Domaine de Cherlieu – Property Description (for rental agreement)

The Domaine de Cherlieu is located in the heart of a listed historic hamlet, at the foot of the monumental remains of a former Cistercian abbey, within a preserved natural environment surrounded by vast state-owned forest.
The hamlet has only two permanent residents, ensuring a quiet, secluded and peaceful setting, with no immediate neighbours.

The property is composed of two independent 18th-century character houses, located within the same hamlet and separated by approximately 50 to 70 metres. This layout allows guests to stay together as a group while maintaining comfortable, separate living spaces.

The entire estate is rented as a whole and includes 5 bedrooms and 1 mezzanine, 2 fully equipped kitchens, 2 living rooms, 4 shower rooms and 4 toilets, providing suitable accommodation for families and groups.

Seasonal shared spaces

Depending on the season, shared areas are organised as follows:

From October to April, meals and shared moments take place in the main living room, used as the primary dining and communal space.

From May to September, a large enclosed reception room of 70 m² (La Grange) is available for group meals and gatherings.

Maison Cherlieu (approx. 102 m²)
Includes 2 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, a spacious, well-equipped kitchen, and a large living room, which serves as the main communal and dining space during the cooler months.

Maison Christal (approx. 112 m²)
Includes 3 family bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living room with television, Orange internet box and Wi-Fi.
A private garden is located in front of the house, adjacent to the reception room used during the warmer season.

Outdoor areas

The property offers large green spaces, gardens, a grassed play area, large outdoor tables, barbecues and a fire bowl.
Children can play outdoors under adult supervision.
Private parking is available on site, and camping (tent, van or motorhome) is possible for members of the group.

Swimming pool

The above-ground outdoor swimming pool, made of natural wood (5.50 × 3.50 m, depth 1.18 m), is located in the orchard at the centre of the estate, away from the living areas.
It is equipped with a safety ladder, is reserved exclusively for guests, and is open from mid-June to the end of August.
⚠️ The swimming pool is not supervised. Children must remain under the constant supervision of a responsible adult.

Comfort and services

Utilities are included, with heating included within reasonable usage.
Beds are made on arrival, and Wi-Fi is included (internet via box; limited mobile phone coverage on site).

Use of the property

Due to its isolated location, the property allows a high level of sound freedom, making it suitable for musicians, rehearsals, artistic workshops or group gatherings, while also offering an ideal environment for quiet stays, relaxation and nature immersion.
