Welcome to our summer paradise Villa West in Tjusvik on the Island Nämdö in the most beautiful part of the archipelago. From the terrace you have a spectacular view over Nämdöfjärden (the bay of Nämdö) and you can enjoy the sun from early morning and throughout the day. The sunsets are truly unforgettable from here and the terrace is shut out from peoples’ view.
The house is openly planned with two bedrooms and a sleeping loft, modern kitchen equipment, wc, and a wood stove.
If you are a large party there is also a basic guest house with 4 additional beds and an extra kitchen. About one hundred meters away you find a small sandy beach and jetties.
The house is 78 sq. m. with an open plan, large windows and plenty of light and air.
From a small hallway you reach the two bedrooms and a bathroom with wc, shower and washing machine.
The master bedroom has a double bed, the smaller bedroom has a bunk bed.
Half a flight up you get to the combined living room, dining room and kitchen with a stunning view over the bay.
The kitchen is furnished in the 1980s and has a stove with both electric and gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The living room is perfect for socializing, and on chilly evenings you will enjoy the wood stove.
Upstairs you find a sleeping loft with two separate beds, tv, games, childrens’ toys and books.
The terrace is approximately 30 sq. m. with total privacy. Here you will find outdoor furniture in teak wood with comfortable cushions, awnings and parasols for sunny days and a barbecue for summer dining. Enjoy the sun from early morning to late evening with spectacular sunsets.
There is also a basic guest house with 4 beds (one double bed and one bunk bed), a kitchenette in a separate room, and a small sunny patio. The guesthouse has a bathroom with shower but no private toilet.
The nearest beach is situated by the community’s jetty 100 meters away. It is a small sandy beach with comfortable benches, well suited for smaller children.
For guests with their own boat there is a berth.
You get to Tjusvik by taxi boat from Stavsnäs vinterhamn. During summer there is daily regular traffic between Stavsnäs and Tjusvik. From the landing there is a 100 meter walk to the house (sharp uphill slope). You can get from Stockholm to Stavsnäs by bus or in your own car (parking area close to the harbour).
Nämdö is an island without any car traffic with plenty of paths and tracks for walking and hiking. A 4 km hike through the woods takes you to the picturesque village Solvik with super market, restaurant and jetty.
You can also have food delivered directly to the jetty in Tjusvik by the online food store Mathem.
More information about Nämdö can be found on archipelagofoundation.se.
The West family with two adults and two children enjoys life on Nämdö with the nice little beach, the wild forests and the great sunsets.
When we are away from Nämdö we live in Bromma outside of Stockholm.

We are 6 friends and one baby who stayed for one week in the beautiful Villa West on Nämdö after visiting Stockholm.
I can absolutely recommand it: The contact to the landlady was very warm and helpful from the very beginning; she even provided a stick blender for the preparation of our baby-food, so we did not have to take one in our flight-lugguage :-) The house has a very open architecture and a lot of space to chill-out, read etc., the kitchen is very well equipped too. The ground is very close to the water and you can have nice hikes ore bike-tours on the sweet island. On every evening there were deers visiting the garden probably enjoying some blueberries. As we did not see a moose this time, we definitely would like to come back another year...
My wife & I had a wonderful week staying at 'Vila West' on the island of Namdo. The house has the best view from the whole island, to the west over miles of sea and the multiple islands, a fantastic place to while away the hours watching boats and the ever-changing sky. Make sure you bring food for at least your first day or two (assuming you don't have access to a boat) as the only shop is a two mile walk along a track through the beautiful, ancient forest to Solvik. We met several very friendly locals but this place is all about peace, solitude and getting away from it all (there is 3G access but ideally you'll bring several good books). Highly recommended!
