Florence short stay

Great location

Great location and easy access to most of Florence. The apartment was lovely, plenty of space for us all and AC units in each bedroom. The only issue we had was accessing the apartment, we didn’t receive check in access and had to call to receive it. But otherwise all was wonderful and perfect for us.

Superb apartment, Tuscan spirit and refinement

The house is a mix of modernity, as very comfortable and very well equipped, and ancient materials. Everything is beautiful and made to feel that you are good, while respecting the Tuscan spirit. We want to thank Gaia for being so accommodating on such short notice. we are sure to return!

Not for older people!

The apartment was spare but fine - nothing fancy but comfortable. However, what isn't mentioned is that there are very very steep and narrow stairs throughout that are dangerous for little kids or older people. And while there is an elevator, it stops 8 steep steps before the apartment door.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment is well positioned to enjoy all aspects of Florence (Firenze). The greeting host was kind. We, a family of 5 traveling for 5 days together, had plenty of places to find our own peace. Great place! One note: we did not realize there was a “tourism tax” that would be collected in cash when we arrived. Apparently this is normal, but we were not aware. It adds a significant amount to the total. This is apparently true with any location in Florence, but should be noted if you’re like me and keep a tight budget.

great location, delightful atmosphere and very accommodating hosts

We were three couples who traveled to Florence together and were fortunate to be able to book this wonderful place on short notice for one night. It was such a convenient location for touring the city and had all we needed. The decor was beautiful and it was fun to open the windows and look outside at the street and views below. The manager, Stefano was very helpful and accommodating for us to leave our luggage so we could enjoy Florence before leaving by train the next afternoon. The bedrooms upstairs were nice size and had their own bathrooms. The third bedroom was a hide a bed in the loft with the bath on the main level. Our only complain was that a bed would have been much more comfortable for a good night's sleep in the loft. That said...we would stay there again and give it 5 stars....a regular bed would be and add on 6 star!!!

Beautiful apartment

My family of 4 stayed in Gaia's apartment for 4 nights. We didn't meet Gaia but email communication was good. Check-in process was easy. The apartment was conveniently located, being close to the attractions, good restaurants and retail shops, and it looked as advertised. The living area was very spacious. The sleeping area were good size and with very comfortable beds. The bathrooms were small in size, but water pressure was good and towels were good quality. We cooked breakfast and kitchen was well equipped although small. Wi-fi was good too. There is an app that can be used for entry to the building and apartment which we found very handy to use, but it will need mobile data. Keys were supplied too. We enjoyed our stay and will gladly return.

Building is 1,000 years old!

This apartment is absolutely wonderful! It is exactly as it appears in the photos: 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with a gracious and large living area on its' main floor. If you lean out the window, you can see the Arno River. The location is PERFECT: you can walk to everything in the Old City within 15 minutes and be across the Arno to Santo Spirito, Boboli, and Pitti Palace in the same amount of time. We had problematic keys but with one phone call, Gaia sent help our way! There is a very small one person elevator that takes you to the top level if you wish although we did not use it except once. Be aware that there are a lot of stairs in Florence-EVERYWHERE! There are about 55-60 stone steps up to the apartment as it is on the top floor. Once inside, there are two more flights of terra-cotta open stairs that twist whimsically and take you up to the bedrooms. I had a full size suitcase and could not get it up the bedroom steps so simply left it on the main level and took things up a few at a time. It worked out perfectly! Another trip I would take a smaller suitcase to stay in this property. This is a city apartment so, of course, there is some street noise at night. And there are beautiful church bells in the morning! Hang on to your earplugs from the airlines for a quiet night's sleep. There are skylights in the top floor two bedrooms that open and close with a remote control. The kitchen is compact and well equipped with essentials. EVERYTHING about the apartment reminds me of Old World charm! We spent one week in early November 2015 in this apartment. We are three women in our early to mid 60s. We could not have been happier with this beautiful apartment!

Eine perfekte Wohnung für einen Florenzaufenthalt

Wir waren im März mit 4 Personen für eine Woche in der Wohnung. Diese bietet viel Platz und einige schöne geschmackvolle Details. Insbesondere der Wohnbereich ist sehr großzügig, die Küche hat noch Optimierungsreserven, aber da wir jeden Tag in einem der tollen Restaurants in Florenz essen waren, hat dies keine große Rolle gespielt. Der historische Charme der Wohnung und die Lage wirklich mitten im Zentrum sind einfach klasse.

Loved our stay in Florence!

Location is an area with many stores and walking distance (5 mins) to many restaurants and attractions, we walked to everything. We had a group of seven persons and the three sleeping areas worked out well for us, just note that one of the beds is in an open loft area. Also, lots of steep steps in the apartment so keep that in mind with young kids and elderly. The check in was fantastic as well as all the communications. We got in to Florence early and were able to leave all our bags with the host and came back later to check in - this was GREATLY APPRECIATED. They even moved our bags to the apartment for us, WOW!

Convenient location

Family of 6 traveling to Florence for first time. Excellent communication with the property manager. We had a chef come and he did a pasta cooking class for us which was a lot fun. Very convenient and easy walk to the main sites.

Pros -1. Location is convenient to everything2. Very clean3. Elevator (only takes you to the first of a three level apt)4. Air Conditioning worked great!5. Washing machine6. Has all the soaps, hair dryers, paper products7. There is a coffee shop three doors downCons1. There are NOT three bedrooms and a sleeping loft. There are two bedrooms, one with a big closet, and a sleeping loft 2. The apt is 3 floors. The stairs are steep. The elevator offers no help maneuvering in the apt.3. Only one set of keys which complicates dividing the group for different activities 4. The host offers no help with arranging transfersOverall, this was a great place to stay with friends and family. We got the Glovo app to have sundries, food, and wine delivered. The grocery stores aren’t super close so Glovo came to our rescue.I have no idea what you would do with a car if you rented one. We used a taxi app which worked great.

A cool experience

This is the first place that we stayed in Italy. My expectations may not be in touch with reality. With that being said, the apartment itself is magical in its own way, uncertainly authentic to Florence. The antiquity surrounds you giving you that European experience that many travelers are seeking. In my case I’m traveling with my family who are not quite as adventurous as Only drawbacks might be with the size of bathrooms, lighting issues, or overall cleanliness. In all fairness, I will say that the place is extremely clean and well kept, and that this is Italy and that anyone should lower their expectations when comparing it to something Modern In this case this numerous stairs could be a concern for some families. I thought all of these features are part of the experience and makes it cool and unique to Florence but my wife feels otherwise. Apartment was overall accommodating and perfect for our family and while I have no actual hotels that I can compare it to, I thought this apartment was unique and historic and special.

Great location beautiful rental

We were a group of 7, all adults this location was great. 10 to 15 walk to almost everything. The rental was great, and beautiful. This may have been my fault but we had an elderly person with us and it was a little hard for her to use the stairs, but we made it work. Both bedrooms are up on top of 3 floors. Middle flóor was the loft which had a sofa bed. Overall I thought the vrbo was great. Thank you

Iconic Florence Stay

This was my friends and I first time in Florence, we wanted a place close to the action so we could walk places. This was the perfect location for us, right near the river, near shops and restaurants, and a close walk to all of the sites. Also, big bonus in the Italian summer it had AC. We loved the aesthetic of the home, it was classic and beautiful. Plenty of space for our group which had 5 of us and a baby. There are quite a bit of stairs, so make sure you are comfortable with that. If it’s not an issue, than this is the perfect spot. The hosts were very easy to communicate with, and the check in process was easy as well. We definitely would stay here again if we were in Florence! Thank you!!!

1st impression. This apartment is on the top floor and the elevator is a 2person max that is very finicky. So if you are a family, like we were, with luggage for everyone it is a very challenging process as you will have to stack some luggage and only one person will fit. Inside the apartment, it is a 2 bedroom with an open loft. The 2 bedrooms each have their own en-suite bathroom but they are all very small. Like cruise ship small. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has 2 twin beds. The open loft has a sofa bed but you will either have to go downstairs or upstairs into a bedroom to use a bathroom. The living area is very spacious. Kitchen has a lot to be desired but honestly how much are you using that anyway. It has a dorm room style fridge but can easily hold some drinks if needed Now onto the location. This place is in a magnificent location and that trumps everything else in my mind. I would 100% stay here again because of that. I would definitely recommend unless you have someone that can’t really deal with stairs as the elevator to get up to the floor is tricky and the stairs inside the apartment are plentiful and very steep and tight.

Amazing location and lots of steps!

The apartment is exactly as pictured - great space for a family or large group. We used the kitchen every morning for breakfast and sat around the table every evening sharing stories and playing games. The location is amazing - you can walk to anything from the apartment within 15 minutes (the train station, every major attraction and great shopping). Be aware, that if you have anyone who is not super mobile, there IS an elevator to the apartment, but within the apartment itself all of the bedrooms require very steep stairs. We would stay there again - super quiet, very clean and fantastic location.
