We spent 2 fantastic weeks in Cap Sizun, for us the most beautiful part of Breizh, and we know Brittany quite well. You have everything you need in close surrounding, beaches north and south in 10 minutes distance from the house, both wild and protected for the Kids, you have a bleak and wonderful Island that you can reach by boat from Audierne, you have authentic Harbours full of history (Audierne, Douarnenez), Quimper as a day trip, Cidre producing farms, fish smokeries, and most of all: a place that did not (yet) sell out to tourism, with a proud Breton People, friendly, but with a good sense for the dangers of modern times (just read about the history of Plogoff).
About the house i do not want to write too much because i have the (childish) Notion of not giving away too much informations, just to protect it from changing too fast. Just let me tell you these things: Beautiful old house full of history (just ask Pierre, the friendly host about it), perfect for a family with lots of space, garden, bathrooms, enough bed rooms... wonderfully situated opposite of an old Chapel, typical for la Bretagne. Though close to a road quiet, with tractors and the odd tourist passing by. No Internet but you wont need it for sure. For me a very personal experience, Pierre did a great Job in keeping the balance of preserving the old Charme and Soul of his great grandparents place and on the other Hand having done much careful labour in decorating the Rooms with nice art, great selection of books for adults and Kids, and lots of toys for the Kids...
We will be back soon hopefully..
