Clean, comfortable and well equipped for a short break
On a positive note, the beds were very comfortable, the house was very well furnished and equipped, tastefully decorated and had a very pleasant south facing garden to relax in with a table and chairs & sun umbrella. There was a generous welcome pack of beer, fruit juice, pate and biscuits. The cupboards were well stocked with daily essentials and cleaning materials. There ws an excellent shower as well as a bath.
However, it would have been helpful if the caretaker had been willing to attempt to speak at least a little English as we did our best to communicate in French. We would also have felt more welcome had the essential house guest information on arrival been translated into English, given the house is advertised on an English speaking website.
We were disappointed to find there was no internet code or any information on how to access Wifi. Despite emailing the owner we did not get any response.
One sun-bed in the garden was broken on arrival, which we did not realise until one of us sat in it and fell to the ground. We explained this to the caretaker on departure but no apology was offered but merely an attempt made to repair it..
After browsing so many properties to rent, we missed there was no upstairs toilet, which was a disadvantage to us and the distance into the town was much further than we anticipated.
Overall a very pleasant stay in a very quiet location with a good choice of restaurants to eat and artisan shops to buy delicious food in the town. We recommend L'Ocean on the beach front for an early evening drink, whilst the sun is setting.
