Hi Mike, We are sorry about the glitch with the double payment. It is a fault with our integration with VRBO/HomeAway. We did promptly refund your credit card on file, but some card companies can take 5 to 7 days to show the transaction on your statement. I also think there is a misunderstanding about washing the sheets and bedding. Guests are allowed to use the laundry machine during their stay. We do ask that upon departure to not start a load of sheets and towels. Our housekeepers take the linens to our commercial laundry center which is more sanitary. When guests start a load of laundry it slows our housekeepers down because they have to wait for the machines to finish their cycle. Hi Jennifer, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback. We would like to address the issues you mentioned: 1) I was charged two deposits, neither of which I have received back yet, in addition to VRBO fees and separate management company fees. - We don't believe we charged for 2 deposits. Perhaps there was a fee from VRBO that was mistaken for a deposit. We actually put 'a hold' on the credit card instead of a charge and it is automatically released within 7 days of your stay if there is no damage. Your deposit was released but may take time to show up on your credit card. 2) Fireplace doesn't function properly (management attempted to assess and said it was a faulty design, open a window to deal with the smoke!), - The guests who stayed in the home prior to your arrival had no problem using the fireplace. The homeowners had serviced and cleaned it 2 times within the last 1 1/2 years (most recently this past November). We did not say it was a faulty design since there have never been issues before. We did recommend opening windows to help the smoke leave the home from the fire that was attempted. 3) The cell reception (ATT) is useless and there is no house phone. - We have no control over the ATT cell towers. This is an issue for all of Angel Fire when our population quadruples in size and several ATT cell customers are in town. The locals that use ATT don't like it as well. All of our properties have ditched their landlines. Very few homes in Angel Fire still have a house phone. 4) It claims it is 3.3 miles from ski lift but, actually it is 12-15 min away. -The distance of 3.3 miles in our description is accurate. Angel Fire is a rural community. During the winter there is snow on the roads that may cause the drive time to be longer than what it is in a city. 5) The management company was rude and exasperated when we inquired/ complained, eventually, we were issued a small credit (12/30/19) and have yet to have it reflected in our account. -It is unacceptable for our staff to treat any of our guests in a rude manner. We will definitely review this with our team regarding customer service. We did issue you a $500 credit, which is not a small amount, for the non-use of the fireplace.
