We stayed for 3 nights and unfortunately, it was the worst experience we've had at a rental.If you’re considering booking this place, be aware that no one is allowed to visit, even briefly, unless they are listed in the reservation in advance. This to us was a misinterpretation of what the booking details were stating and came as a surprise to us. Because of this we had to pay a 216 penalty for “additional guests” or vacate the property and forfeit our deposit. The host Rob was rude and not very helpful.Additionally, the property is under heavy surveillance with multiple outdoor cameras, including some hidden in the trees. Rob seemed to have detailed knowledge of our movements, which made one of our female friend feel very uncomfortable.Other issues with the property:•The kitchen is extremely small with no counter space, making it very difficult to prepare meals. •We encountered bugs during our stay. A dead one was found in the living room on the first morning, and a large live one was crawling in the bathroom on the second night. The host claimed they were "waterbugs," but they were unusually large and unlike anything we've encountered in other ATL rentals. Overall, I would not recommend this property and would not stay here again. The strict and unclear rules, the way the situation was handled, and the overall discomfort we experienced made this stay extremely disappointing.

The house was exactly as described and super close to downtown. It was also very clean and homey. The area is being renovated and I felt over safe staying here! For the price, it was perfect for a group of friends going to watch football games. The host was also super communicative and helpful, which made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend!

Great choice for our friends trip to ATL

The reviews about this property did not disappoint. Everything was as described, it was centrally located and in a quite neighborhood. The property manager Rob was top notch and excellent in his communication when I had a question - prompt and professional so I couldn't ask for more. There were 4 of us in all in our party and everyone felt comfortable and like they had their own space. We were in town for a dance conference and I certainly intend to book Leta's property again the next time we are in town. Thanks for helping to make our stay so memorable!

Not happy

Worse experience was accused of being dishonest because the couple that was supposed to stay decided they were uncomfortable staying in the area. Since I paid for 4 adults I didn’t think it would be a problem for my sisters to stop by because it would only be 4 adults. Property manager said that he would look at it as an oversight and not charge us but decided to charge me anyway. I’m okay with it because if I couldn’t afford the stay I wouldn’t have stayed but this was my birthday that was ruined by pettiness. I would not recommend this place unless you want NO privacy.

Atlanta doesn't owe us anything!

At 1st look it seems the neighborhood might be unsafe...not the case! There is a lot of remodeling going on. The house itself was everything that was described....the location was Great...every destination on our itinerary was less than 6 miles...easy access to the freeways. We were 4 female adults and 3 toddlers...we felt very safe with the alarm system and the entry access points. The backyard was Perfect for the kids to run around. I did briefly communicated with the owner by phone...I felt as if I was talking to a old friend. I would definitely stay there again as well as recommend the house to any of my family and friends.

Great

Nice and clean place, and lots of places to sleep people. It was also very convenient for us since it was only 15 minutes away from downtown. You could hear train horns at night, but it didn't bother us too much. Semi steep driveway for lower cars. Would definite book if I'm in the area again!

Thank You For An AMAZING Experience!

While some of the surrounding neighborhood can be a little off-putting at first glance, this home is exactly as described! My family of four adults and one teenager comfortably shared this beautiful home for a five night stay, and we couldn't have been happier. There's a community center with public pool right across the street, and many options for grocery shopping within two miles of the house. We were able to stock up on groceries quickly and prepare everything in the fully equipped kitchen. Leta, the property owner, was available for any questions at every step of the rental process. We spoke over the phone several weeks before our trip, and several times during our stay as well. There were plenty of bed linens and towels to ensure our group could relax and not have to do laundry while we were there (although we did!). Check-in was a breeze. We arrived and there were snacks available inside, a great feature since we had just gotten off of a five hour flight. We walked through to check out the space, and were excited with how much space was available in the small home. There were four televisions, three of which already had Netflix set up, and I was able to easily connect my AppleTV in the living room so we could watch the season premier of Game of Thrones (:~D) Throughout our stay, we were able to get Lyfts within 3-4 minutes, and all of the nightlife was a short ride away. During the days, we ventured into downtown, which was only a few short minutes away, and I feel we were really able to see all that Atlanta had to offer. I am so thankful to have found this gem, and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Atlanta!

Cozy stay! Very good rental!

Before booking the home or any homes for that matter I always take reviews into consideration. I do understand others skepticisms of the neighborhood but I can say for certain that after 9-10pm you could literally hear a needle slip into a haystack. Leta, the owner is very quick in her response and thorough in detail. I've booked many homes on Homeaway/Vrbo and this transaction was the most secure I have ever felt. The bedrooms are spacious with nice hardwood floors, the bathrooms are modern, the back yard has a ton of space. I love to cook, didn't quite get a chance too but the kitchen itself also had modern amenities. It's a cozy stay, well secure and peaceful. I would definitely stay here again to get away from the hustle and bustle of L.A.'s film industry. Thanks again, Leta for your hospitality. Best wishes!

Cost effective housing in inner city area

The house itself was nice, clean, had internet access, and a much needed security system. The owner was very nice and quick to respond to questions and concerns. I admire the owners attempt to help revitalize an area that needs attention. I would recommend that you use Google Street view before booking the property. When we arrived on a Sunday around 6pm, there was a lot of activity in the area. The street was full and it was hard to navigate due to the cars and ladies in the street. We didn't experience this on other days, but we always departed early in the morning and did not arrive back till after 7pm. If you do stay here, I do recommend entering the neighborhood from the back via Mary Street. While this house served its purpose for our visit; I would not recommend it for a female traveling alone.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay

I must say I was glad to have met the owner she was very pleasant and accommodating . I was very happy with the property, the interior was the exact replica as seen on the site. Was timid at first with the neighbor hood. However the security system kept my mind at ease... Aside from a few trains passing by the area was very quiet however, I do recommend transportation although not far from things to do would be very challenging on foot even just to get to transportation. modern technology at your finger tips and all the comforts of home.... Would defiantly rent it again.

Nightmare

My name is Crystal I recently stayed at this property before I came to the property I was nervous about using home away however I gave it a chance which led me to this property automatically they took payment out of my account and it went directly to the owner of the property not knowing if I was going to get pic to stay at the property however I was relieved when I spoke to the owner and she told me she had excepted my offer so I was OK with that me and the owner get real acquainted with each other and she made me feel very very comfortable I was asking her things about the property she was answering as well as before I hung the phone up I asked her can you please tell me how far are we from downtown Atlanta she told me the property was directly downtown when I made it to Atlanta I got the rental car and drove straight over to the property oh my God it was abanded houses on the whole entire block it was people sitting all on the abandoned houses drinking 40 ounce beers as well as a drug house next-door to the property people will come out the house and ask do I want to buy weed wow way to spend a vacation I was scared just off of the strength of the area the area is called Pittsburgh it is a very dangerous neighborhood I try to attempt to go into the house which when I got into the it was nice in the inside partially until you do a complete walk-through the cylinders are caving in it have brown stuff on the walls like a water leak and the walls cracking as well it had roaches in the property she watches you and audio record you on her camera's all day it was a very uncomfortable situation I am mediately called her once I checked out the property and told her I will not spin My vacation in the ghetto I was terrified for my life however she told me that she was not giving me my money back so I had no choice but to stay at the house during my stay someone got killed on the next block down from me it was very very scary I had visitors stopping by to make sure everything was OK with me I am a single female me and my sisters we were very scared in that property however after everything was said and done the owner told me she was not giving me my security deposit back because I had company and her property I thought that was observed but this is my first and last timebooking with Home A Way I am very scared to deal with this site again maybe it was just the owner but it was A very bad situation

The home was beautiful on the inside

I enjoyed our stay at this home it was comfortable and cozy with the bedside fireplaces. I would suggest a full size mirror in the home so that the lovely ladies can. Look at their full outfit as that is something I do everyday while getting dressed. Overall it was a good experience.

A Hidden Jewel

On the weekend of February 5, 2016 I have the pleasure to stay at Mr. & Ms. Singleton's property with friends and family from out of town. Let me say the process was seamless. We were greeted with a welcome book and other essentials to our stay. The amenities were adequate and made our stay very comfortable. HOUSE WELL MAINTAINED - AREA STAY AWAY

The house is well maintained, clean and well equipped. Our problem was that it is not a safe area there are numerous boarded up properties and garbage thrown all over the street. We were advised by a number of Atlanta residents that we were targets. The driver from the airport did not feel comfortable leaving us there. We were at the house for less than an hour and a number of locals had already circulated outside. We chose to leave and we were fortunate to find a hotel at downtown Atlanta . They are re vitalizing down town Atlanta but this house is not in that area yet. Correspondence was promt from Commaleta but we are definitely not predjuice and had persons with us that were Metis. Even at home we know what areas not to go to all cities have these areas. We were told we should have google mapped the area first. Anyway like I said great house in the wrong location......DONT GO THERE

Downtown ATL

My trip to Atlanta was awesome thanks to this beautiful home that was availiable to me & my brothers. The pictures posted are exactly how the house looks on the inside and the property was very well maintained. I loved the living room set and all of the interior decorations made the home nice and comfy. Mrs. Singleton's customer service was A-1. She was availiable by phone, email and even had of her staff member visit the property to make sure the alarm system and cameras were working properly. Now reading prior reviews before booking this home things were said like "the neighborhood looked unsafe and or creepy" and by driving in for the 1st time I can see what made others feel that way but trust me there is nothing to worry about we were perfectly fine. Only real issue we had during our weekend stay was that alarm system. Like I stated before Mrs. Singleton was available by phone and by email and there was also written instructions about the alarm system but for some odd reason that alarm pad still gave me some trouble with activating it LOL. Anyways this home is in a perfect location pretty much smack dab in the middle of the city. Anywhere you plan on going in the city your gps will show that's it's only a drive of 7-15mins away from the home. I would def recommend anyone visiting Atlanta to book this home because I sure will be checking for this home again when I revisit the city of Atlanta. Upon checking out we cleaned our mess in the kitchen, took out the trash, removed & folded all the sheets and collected all towels used and placed in the washer to clean.(mama always taught us to clean up after ourselves). Overall I rate this property 4.5 stars. Thank you again for your lovely home
