Wonderful big house with fabulous views and garden looking out across the valley, loads of space for a big gettogether with friends. Would definitely go back.

Gut: Sauberkeit, Kommunikation und Lage

70th birthday

Bathrooms and bedrooms great, kitchen not great but adequate, dining room good with plenty of mats for the table, sitting room ok but furniture a bit shabby, utility room good with good quality white goods. Garden not good for children of all ages really, nowhere to kick a ball and so steep we couldn’t let the little ones play at all outside, not that we had the weather to do that anyway!! All in all a good house but could be better.

Excellent bedrooms and living rooms, kitchen rather small and poorly designed for size of property.

Great for adults but not safe for small children and parking a nightmare because of slopes - should be mentioned in literature.

So pleased you enjoyed the main house. We had some lovely Bank Holiday weather too! I'm afraid the kitchen is designed and set up mainly as a working area and isn't an ideal social space for a large group! Our catering companies prepare and cook 7 course dinners for guests but we do accept that if all members of the group, including the children, want to help cook, it gets rather hectic! What a shame you hadn't informed us in advance that you were bringing a Motor Home, unfortunately the parking area is tricky to negotiate with large vehicles but had we known, we could have saved a space on our little campsite. It's always worth discussing details with us in advance so we can help facilitate everyone's needs. The literature does state that "The House and garden are on a sloping site so are not suitable for people with mobility issues. Small children will need supervision in the garden as there are terraced areas." We are always open to suggestions as to how we can improve and thank you for your comments.

Great stay, with large family.

Amazing location. House very comfortable, lovely decor and rooms and plenty of bathrooms. Catherine made us feel very welcome, but not intrusive. The view from the house is incredible, sheep and lamas in the next field, fabulous walks on the doorstep and a lake for dipping in! Thank you Catherine. The Simpson Family.

An absolutely brilliant place for our family reunion

10 adults, 5 children and a baby visited in January. The house was warm, comfortable and the kitchen had enough equipment to cook meals for us all. The owner, of course, couldn't control the weather...but luckily that was good as well!

Lovely house, spacious but cosy, excellent facilities.

12 of us stayed for a week, and had an excellent time. We loved the house - elegant and spacious, with good bedrooms for all of us (we've stayed in some places where there are a couple of lovely rooms but the rest are only adequate). The drawing and dining rooms were particularly appreciated. The boot room was always warm and dry when we returned from long walks - and it was so nice to be able to do varied walks direct from the house, or with the help of the Little White Bus. Cath was an excellent host - responded to our requests immediately (including a whole new oven!). We'd love to stay again.

Wonderful

A wonderful place with magnificent views. We loved it. The house was spacious with good amenities. The dinning room was fit for a King and allowed us to share great evening ding altogether.All bedrooms were to a high standard. Would definitely go again.

Stunning views all the mod cons.

Full disclosure I have close ties to the village of Low Row, my father was born there. The beauty of Low Row and the Dales are in my blood. But onto Hazel Brow... the property is a gem with stunning views. Breath taking! The house is lovely with period charm and modern convenience. Lots of hot water, heat on demand and a great kitchen. The owner of the property was wonderful and accommodated a very large request to use the garden for a family reunion!!! The house is great for small gatherings and large alike. I would highly recommend this house.

Lovely house + beautiful location = fab break!...

A bit of background - we were 14 women who were at school together over 40 years ago and were looking for somewhere to celebrate a joint Big Birthday Bash. We wanted posh, we wanted pampering and we wanted to party! And we were able to do it all in this gorgeous house. Nicely semi secluded but easy to find. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, lots of beautiful features and a magnificent dining room with a huge table to sit and socialise around. The house was lovely and warm and there was lots of room outside to sit and admire the beautiful views. The pictures don't do justice to this property and it is far nicer in 'real life'. Catherine, the owner, had very patiently answered all our requests and queries over the previous weeks and had advised us on hot tub hire and catering. It was great to have a meal cooked and served to us at the table - and have the washing up done at the end of it! We just put our posh frocks on and didn't even have to leave the house. Perfect! This property is absolutely right for a celebration or for a big family group holiday and I would certainly recommend it as something a little bit different. So a huge thank you to Catherine for a great service and thanks also to the two lovely ladies who cooked our delicious meal. We liked it - can you tell?!...

Fabulous!

A truly fabulous stay at Hazel Brow! Not only was the location outstanding, the house was indulgent but welcoming. There were beautiful views from bathrooms to bedrooms and cosy fires too. Given that there were 14 of us staying, we all managed to have wonderfully warm showers and baths, a lovely surprise based on some of past experiences! The pub was a short walk and offered great food and a nice change from cooking. Thank you for letting us stay and experience your wonderful house, I'm sure we will be back to visit again soon.

Perfect

We enjoyed a fantastic week at Hazel Brow. The house was warm, comfortable, characterful and spacious. It made a perfect house for a family celebration - all the facilities you would want and great to sit around a big dining table with the spectacular view of the Dales as a backdrop. Cannot recommend this place highly enough for a big family holiday. Cath was also really helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Also great to have the Punchbowl Inn just up the road, fantastic walks by the river Swale and in the Dales. Lovely historic towns and villages around too.

Stunning country house venue for wedding reception

My partner and I booked this beautiful property to host our wedding reception and festivities. We filled the house with family and friends over the weekend and stayed on throughout the following week to enjoy our honeymoon. The house was a perfect venue for our relaxed wedding celebrations and we and our many guests agreed that the glorious setting played a major part in making the whole event very special. The owner could not have been more accommodating, considerate and generous with her time. 100% happy with everything we would encourage anyone wanting a friends or family get together in the beautiful Dales to book this property without hesitation.

Wedding Reception Parrty

We were absolutely delighted with this property, booked for a long weekend for our daughter's wedding reception. The many roomed house was spacious, clean and extremely well furnished. As the rooms were occupied by family and friends, we didn't get to view all of them, but many had en-suite showers and toilets and there were additional bathrooms. The kitchens was very well equipped and we did all the catering for the wedding feast and the entire stay. The terraced garden was picturesque and the view at the back was spectacular. And I understand from my daughter that the owner kindly had a part of the steep sloping garden landscaped to provide a large flat area to accommodate a large marque for the wedding banquette and the evening entertainment. We would happily recommend this property to anyone without reservation.

Perfect Midweek Getaway in the Dales

Arrived on cold day to a very warm and cozy spacious home in Swaledale. The fire was burning and we settled in after a long journey. The rooms are all so lovely that I had difficulty choosing. Even the single bed has a really cozy feeling and skylight providing views of the moors and the stars. I can't imagine a better destination for rest, together times, and walking throughout the adjoining countryside. Cath was warm and welcoming and went the extra mile to help at every turn! We will plan to stay for an entire week next year.

Spacious house in beautiful setting

We have just spent 4 nights in this lovely house for a family gathering, including an 80 th birthday party! The bedrooms were all large and there was enough room in the house to have personal space if needed. The fires were lit for our arrival making it very welcoming. A bonus was, being dog friendly, our border collie could also enjoy the fabulous local walks! The Punchbowl is a very friendly watering hole just a stones throw away! The kitchen was well equipped which made catering straightforward. Would highly recommend this property.

The perfect place to stay in Swaledale!

Cath was lovely and very welcoming on arrival and she had the fires on when we arrived (which we loved). The kitchen was well equipped with everything and more you'd need for large groups. The property was very clean and tidy. Facilities were great everybody had so many positive things to say about it. Its a perfect place to bring family or friends together. We are already planning our 2016 trip to stay again. There is plenty to do in the local area to keep you busy and it just the most beautiful place to relax.
