This property was most likely the nicest, quietist, cleanest and most beautiful one that I've ever stayed. I've stayed in various VRBO, etc. rental companies and locations (including in Europe since 201). It is incredibly beautiful and peaceful and in the best neighborhood I've ever stayed. The hosts (Stef and Thea) were incredibly helpful, warm and generous I've ever had as well. You cannot go wrong in choosing this property.

Inside the gates of Pebble Beach you will find this little slice of Italy. You drive through the gate and up a block driveway with so much floral you feel like you are at the Amalfi Coast. Thea and Stefano greet you and give you an informative tour and explanation how everything works. The cottage is actually better than the photos. They have a well stocked refrigerator and many treats awaiting you. We have stayed in over 50 VRBO’s and this is in the top 5. We travel to Carmel every year and have now found our new home. I’m already planning next years trip.

The property and the host exceeded our expectations. The setting was beautiful and the cottage was very welcoming and comfortable. We expected that we would enjoy the area but were surprised by how much we enjoyed the living quarters. The host obviously pays a lot of attention to details and makes sure that renters have everything they need and more. She was also highly responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

If you’re looking for an oasis of peace and tranquillity, this place will not disappoint. Thea and Stefano were the most perfect hosts. Communication started very early with them asking for our preferences for breakfast, coffee or tea or both, wines, waters, etc. We did not have to do any grocery shopping before we got there which was a relief after a 15 hour plane ride! As we were staying for 11 days, the washer and dryer was a welcome surprise. Everywhere on the Monterey Peninsula is also about a 10 minute drive away. Will definitely stay there again on my twice yearly trip! Thank you so much Thea and Stefano!

Quaint property in an amazing location

A lovely get away in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is so unique and very nicely appointed. Thea and Stefan are wonderful hosts who fill it with fresh flowers and great goodies. The Nespresso coffeemaker was a bonus! I loved the green marble bathroom with the perfect Tiffany lamp, such a nice touch.

We arrived for our anniversary weekend and were greeted by the hosts who were so warm and welcoming. Entering the grounds, we were truly transported to a Mediterranean villa. Their attention to detail made us feel right at home, as did the lovely bottle of wine and assorted goodies! The fresh cut flower arrangements and stunning orchids throughout the home created a beautiful ambiance. Our weekend away felt like a vacation to an Italian seaside. The hospitality of our hosts was unparalleled. This is so much more than a place to sleep, it was an experience we cannot wait to book again! Thank you for making our anniversary so very special.

Relaxing and cozy

Thea and Stephano are wonderful hosts. Very friendly and made us feel comfortable. They provided us with Nespresso, tea, granola, milk, bread, butter and jam (breakfast), so we lounged during the morning...very relaxing. They also gave us a cake and bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate a birthday and anniversary, very thoughtful. Thank you, Thea and Stephano. The cottage is nestled on their property among all the foliage that it provides privacy and tranquility. It's also very clean and well taken care of. We loved the decor of fresh flowers, live plants, and artwork. It also has all the amenities making for a wonderful stay.

The absolute best!

What a beautiful property, and Thea and Stefano are warm, friendly owners who have thought of everything, and were always available for anything we might need. The cottage was spotless and cozy, and equipped with everything you could possibly need, down to charging cables for your devices. The cottage was beautifully decorated, and the owner took the time to place fresh flower arrangements everywhere, which were so appreciated. The build quality of the cottage was also notable, with hardwoods throughout. Appliances were modern and convenient and the Nespresso was wonderful in the morning. Coffee and tea were provided along with breakfast groceries, water, sparkling wine, and a tiramisu dessert, which was a great snack every evening. We were centrally located and 5-10 minutes from most everything on the Monterey Peninsula, but it was still a very quiet retreat. I felt immediately comfortable there, which isn’t common for most vacation rentals. I could go on and on, but will suffice to say that I would go back in a heartbeat. This was the best rental experience I have ever had.

Absolutely Wonderful!

This place is amazing! Very private and secluded. The space itself was meticulously clean and had everything you could possibly imagine. The space is quite large, and just beautiful. Hosts were excellent! The property overall is a combination of old school Italy, fountains everywhere, and lush tropical landscaping. Very highly recommended if you are looking for privacy and comfort!

Wish I could Rate This Property a 10!!

This was the most enjoyable and mind blowing VRBO (or any rental) experience that we have had. First, when making the booking was, we were given a lengthy list of "provisions" that would be waiting for us. the list included everything under the sun -- milk, bread, muffins, soft drinks, chocolate, jams, etc. The list went on and on. We only opted for a few items but there they were when we arrived. Has that ever happened in to you? Secondly, upon arrival we were greeted by the owners who live on property. A short but more than adequate orientation was provided. Very helpful: how many rentals have confusing / non-existent TV and appliance instructions? Not gonna' happen here! Third, in the fridge was a cake welcoming us with our names on it. Has anyone had that happen before? Fourth, the unit was spotless and squeaky clean. The unit is laid out in a very nice way with convenient separation from the office, bedroom, kitchen (full kitchen!) and bath / shower area. Fifth, there were literally dozens (more?) of freshly cut flower buds in dishes placed strategically throughout the property. These combined with the several orchids inside and plethora of flora and fauna outside and in the well protected garden added to the terrific ambiance. Sixth, it was SO quiet for our entire stay. Seventh, the location is ideal. Five minutes to Pebble Beach Lodge, maybe 10 to Carmel and Monterey. Eighth, the owners are interesting and helpful people. We can't wait to return!

Better than all the photos and notes

We stay at many rentals and found this to be right up there as a favorite. The hosts were so helpful and available. The rental was so comfortable, good bed, lay out was perfect. It was a for sure a getaway! The outdoors were beautiful, like a garden you would see in a magazine. Double sinks in the bathroom. The den with the fireplace was a wonderful spot to do some reading. Kitchen had everything you could need, and the hosts left some nice snacks, water and a bottle of wine for us. The pictures don't do it justice. We will definitely be back. Soooooo nice!

Marathon Retreat
