Cozy Sweet Casita 2 bed 2 bath house, off-street parking by Tamarack State Beach

Thank you for checking out our rental listing! We are happy to host several fully furnished rentals in Carlsbad since 2018. All rentals are tended to personally by our small family business, with me (Mari) doing the customer service part and other family members handling the housekeeping. We are happy to welcome visiting families and pets as well as digital nomads and folks looking for a relaxing staycation stationed in our quiet neighborhood just a short walking distance to Tamarack State Beach and adorable Carlsbad Village.

This 2 bed 2 bath private house is located in a cozy garden setting walking distance to the beach. We provide free WIFI and take care of the utilities. It is fully furnished for good comfort, with fresh linens and towels provided for each stay. By request, we can drop off a change of linens/towels and pick up used ones at no charge. Additional housekeeping calls can be arranged for additional cleaning fees.

The kitchen has a full sized stove/oven, a refrigerator, and microwave. We stock all the kitchen basics - cookware, dining sets and utensils, cooking oil and basic seasoning/condiments. There is a Nespresso machine with pods provided as well as a small drip coffee pot and electric water kettle. There is a toaster, blender, tea towels and oven mitts. If you are needing a particular kitchen thing or refills needed, we likely have an extra on hand that we can bring over!

The primary bedroom has a king sized bed, side tables and lamps, and smart TV. The bedroom closet has a clothes rack with hangers, shelves and drawers for various storage. The en-suite bathroom has a full walk-in shower and we provide fresh hand towels, soap and shampoo/conditioner for each stay. We leave a few rolls of TP and paper towels for each stay, and typically don’t offer to restock for longer stays but can bring a few more rolls over by request.

The second bedroom has a queen sized bed, side table and lamp and smart TV. The closet has a clothes rack and hangers provided, and a standing drawer set provides a lot of extra storage.

The hallway bathroom has a full bath/shower and we provide additional bath and beach towels in the hallway shelves. We kindly ask that beach sand really be kept out of the house and there is an outdoor shower/faucet in the backyard to help rinse sand off before heading inside.

The living room has a sofa-bed couch and comfy lounge chair, floor lamp, side tables, a media storage cabinet with some games/books, and a smart TV connected to the house WIFI. We have our YoutubeTV account logged in on all the TV’s in the house for guests to use that connect to local and national network TV broadcasts, and guests may also log into their own streaming services. HDMI cables can be provided by request if there aren’t already some in the house.

We have ceiling fans in each room as well as central heating/cooling for additional climate comfort, but it’s almost always ideal weather here in Carlsbad!

Off-street parking in the driveway for several vehicles is private for guest use during the rental, as no other vehicles or people will pass through this driveway. Electric vehicles may not be charged at the house just yet. Street parking nearby is also generally available and there are no street sweeping ticket days. Our neighborhood is very mellow and safe, but we have security cameras over the common pathways to the street in case there are any questions or issues.

The patio and yardspaces outside the house are for guest’s private use during the stay, but we cannot support large or loud gatherings at any time and ask that guests observe very quiet hours 10pm-8am on behalf of the neighbors nearby. We are super pet friendly but to avoid any interaction issues, please leash pets in the common areas outside the house. We handle the yardwork on Thursdays. Trash is collected Monday mornings and we ask guests to roll the provided bins to the curb in front of the house and back to their original position, unless help is requested in advance.

Please note that our place is really close to the coastal rail tracks, so commuter and freight trains can be heard passing throughout the day and occasionally at night. Usually it’s quick and a low rumble but sometimes the horn can be loud.

There is no laundry on-site, but we highly recommend Launderland at 977 Tamarack Ave next to the Vons.

Rates and fees: Nightly rates range from $300-$350 depending on the seasonal availability but we are open to discussing budgets especially if short notice availability opens up. All stays are charged a fee of $300 for cleaning and 12% taxes on the total cost of the stay, and we offer a discount of 10% off the nightly rate for stays of 7+ days. We offer a 50% discount on the rate for stays over 30+ nights, with $300 fee for regular cleaning and $200 for any additional housekeeping calls (which can be scheduled by request) but no tax is charged for longer visits.

Booking and payment options: We typically require full payment prior to arrival, but can arrange for payments to be scheduled over time for stays over 14 days.

Change and cancellation policy: We know travel plans can change rapidly or unexpectedly, and dislike charging people for not being able to make it here so will do what we can to work with any last minute reservation changes and offer full refunds whenever possible. Bookings are fully refundable within 24 hours of being made, unless that is within 72 hours of the arrival. In that case we would not be able to refund but can offer to move the reservation to sometime in the future, even if those plans aren’t concrete and work on establishing new dates when it is more convenient.

We hope to set visitors up here with all the comforts of home and extra conveniences ready upon arrival and without additional interaction needed upon self-check-in, but we are happy to come over to attend promptly if any issues or questions come up during the visit!
