The good thing was The house was very clean and comfy, but when looking at the listing is shoa the property on Offatts Bayou and is definitely NOT ! this may be why there is omly one picture of the water. If i would have know it was where it was i would not have rented it. It has no lights on the water and the only lights in the yard are motion sensors. The Grass had not been mowed and the water in that inlet smelled like sewage. The neighbors complained because we had bought lights to put on water so we could maybe attract some fish so the owner called multiple times to tell me to turn them down or off. ABSOLUTELY NOT !! if i did that we would be sitting in the datk. You dont rent a so called "BAY" house to sit inside because thats the only place with light. Safe to say save your money stay some where else !

Thanks for your feedback. I’m glad you found the house clean and comfortable, but I’m sorry other parts of your stay didn’t meet expectations. The listing doesn’t say it’s on Offatts Bayou, though I’ll double-check the description to keep things clear. Water conditions do change with the weather, and most guests usually enjoy fishing out back, but I understand it wasn’t ideal during your visit. As for the lights, I only reached out once by text and once by phone after neighbors raised concerns about brightness. I try to balance guests enjoying the space with being respectful to the neighborhood. I’ll also make sure the lawn stays better maintained. I appreciate your comments and will keep working to improve the experience for future guests.

As you pull up to the property it is a mess outside. Grass unkempt. Debris all over decks and yard. Very poor deck furniture. Hazard walking to decks for entry because of broken pavers. Inside was very clean but very musty smelling. Lower level difficult to go down staircase and tripping hazzard going into bedroom and laundry room. No shower in lower level. Previous shower area has unfinished floor and board covering drain. Unable to open any windows because if inoperable shutters. Shower in master bathroom is in the very large whirlpool tub that does not work and very slippery when showering. Another hazard. Many maintenance repairs needed.

Location for fishing access to east bay is the reason we chose this property. The owner requires a1500 damage deposit. If you book in advance your money is tied up for several months. We were forced to buy the damage insurance to avoid this

Nice place

Was a nice rental that fit all 8 of us. Check in was easy, and the house was well equipped. Enough beds for all of us. Large bathtub in the master bathroom that easily fits me and I’m 6’2” 250lbs. One downfall to the place was we didn’t realize there was a spiral staircase to get to the downstairs bedroom. Not a huge issue, but one of the people in our party has hip issues so it was easier for them to just use the normal stairs outside to transverse levels in the home.

Very nice place to stay.

We stayed a week and enjoyed the location. Nice place to fish but wouldn’t recommend swimming. Owner is very quick in responding to questions and taking care of any issues.

Great Getaway!

First off, the property owner is awesome! He was readily available any time we had questions. He checked on us midway through our stay and he seemed to really care about our experience. The place itself was clean and perfect for two adults and three teenage boys. When we were not out at the beach we really enjoyed fishing in the backyard. If you are wondering...those are ribbon fish. (We had to look them up). The place was quiet and just perfect for our needs. I highly suggest renting this place should you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. We WILL be back. There is a big one (fish) that eluded me this trip. I will get him on my return.
