We visited Sharon Springs with our 4 young children and greatly enjoyed our stay at the White House on Main. Carol was a very attentive, accommodating and gracious host - even remotely. The house is very comfortable, cozy, and well prepared. We enjoyed the historic charm of the house, had never seen such beautiful wide wooden floor boards that don't even creak! The back patio is a serene private oasis to enjoy outdoor breakfast or peek at the amazing starry night sky. Very convenient to pick up pastries or sandwiches at the Black Cat, or score some presents at the various stores in town. The town's faded glory/recent renaissance atmosphere is fascinating. Nearby scenery is overwhelming, we had a beautiful drive alongside Glimmerglass Lake to charming Cooperstown, enjoyed the Schoharie Valley, visited the George Landis Arboretum, the spectacular Bouck's Falls, berry picking at Bohringer's, and simply driving around enjoying the rolling hills and beautiful towns and architecture is relaxing. Plenty of nice swimming spots nearby. Great summer weather. Amazing healthy food available everywhere. It really feels like stepping back in time. We highly recommend the house, the town, and the area.
