Unbelievable view and so convenient

This property is extraordinary, right on the beach, gated, 3 bathrooms! Was perfect for our extended stay working in the area, will definitely have this on our list next time we stay in this area. Completely recommend and the rental company could not be any easier.

Amazing Views

Love Drl Mar Shores!

We found the property to be everything we thought it would be and more! Far and away the best appointed and decorated rental we have had. Great location too! Kudos to the owners for opening their wonderful home to guests. We all like to cook, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Our son lives in San Diego and liked the uncrowded Beach for surfing too!We will definitely look to return!

Just What We Wanted

Short one bed

This is a beautiful property! The only negative I have is the second bedroom advertised as a full bed and a fold out couch. We needed room to sleep 4 senior ladies and asked about sleeping arrangements, the fold out couch needs to be replaced. One of us had to sleep on the leather couch for the week, not ideal. Management was quick to remedy any issues and great to work with! We would come back for the beautiful view and this condo.

Comfortable condo

We were comfortable during our 8 day stay. Parking spot was right near our condo door. Bathrooms were beautifully renovated and the master bedroom was comfortable with a great ocean view. Kitchen was nice but a bit over equipped with gadgets. We did have to ask Stubbs to replace the drinking glasses as they were pitted from calcium deposits. Stubbs responded quickly and bought a new set of glasses for the condo. Other than that, we found the decor a little over the top eclectic and busy, but day to day living in the condo was enjoyable. We would return there.

Alright

You have to pay a daily fee for AC. Front door impossible to lock. Outside gates are secured, you put your hand through and open them. Beds are Extremely high off the floor. Needed a step stool to get on. Noise can be heard from highway when you open rear sliding door, no outdoor cushions front or backyard, no lagoon wildlife and only saw air balloons first night. Kitchen table only has 4 strange chairs, (counter stools were too high for us to use) couches are very low to floor and dont face TV in living room. Otherwise no steps so a true ranch style home. Glass dishes are on the very top shelf so you need a ladder to reach them. Pleanty of outdoor space as long as you dont mind the noise from the highway. Close to stores, too, which was a good thing.

Thank you for your review. We have had this lovely custom property for a number of years and there have been no prior complaints of any highway noise, the front door not locking, or the property gates not working as expected. Since the home is elevated high above the lagoon on a steep hillside, it's not likely you'd see wildlife aside from birds. We have no control over the schedule of the hot air balloon company as atmospheric conditions sometimes hinder flights. The cushions are located inside the property to prevent weather damage. Above the waves!

We were very surprised how efficient the check in process was. Kevin called when we were on the road to say our unit was clean and we did not have to wait until 4:00 to check-in. That was nice as we did arrive about an hour earlier than expected. The patio is huge and has lounge chairs as well as two tables for eating or just hanging out watching the surfers. This is a very large two bedroom unit, both with "ensuites" and more closet space than anyone could use for a short stay. The kitchen was clean and had everything you could ask for except we never found plastic glasses to take outside. Three TV's, three bathrooms, two bedrooms and plenty of space in the living area for watching tv or just watching the ocean. Tons of windows for full viewing. It is a short walk to the steps that take you to the beach, I'd say about 6-7 flights of stairs.....workout for the day! The unit had beach chairs, boogie boards and towels for our use. Beds were comfy. Underground parking was nice and very close to the unit for ease of packing and unpacking. We took the train to Anaheim and went to Disneyland for a day. The enjoyment was with us everyday as we watched the surfers and dogs on the beach. This was a winner in our book and would love to return again.

A week get-a-way

We choose this place for the views and set up (bed/bath/washer/dryer etc). When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised that this was a combination of 2 units- thus why you see # 35 & 36 in the pictures. So, this is really a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit. A King in the master, a Queen and twin hide-a-bed in the other two. Bonus: you get 2 covered parking spots real close to the unit. Yes, there are a few things that show their wear and tear but it is a beach/coast place and you are going to see those. A couple of broken tile on the patio for one. There are about 7 flights of stairs leading down to the beach. The kitchen is stalked with most cooking utensils you need (pots, pans, etc). We had Hello Fresh deliver a few meals to our unit so we didn't have to shop for much food. I suggest you look at the pantry to see what "every" day things you might need/want as there are some staples. We preferred Vons over Gelson simply because there were more options. There is also a Whole Foods close by. The rental company supplies you with a roll of toilet paper for each bath room, a paper towel roll, bar soap, shampoo/conditioner in each bath, 2-3 dishwasher pods and 2-3 laundry pods. There are no Kleenex/tissues so use your judgement on how much to get at the store. Washer and dryer in the unit was a huge reason why we booked this unit over others in the area. They are located in the hall bathroom. We loved going out on the patio with the binoculars (provided) and watching the surfers and was lucky enough to see dolphins/porous playing 4 out of 7 days we were there. There is a bag of sand toys in the hall bath. FYI-High tide is in the morning. Over all we loved this place and would come back again. The view off the patio of the sunset was amazing even the kids (12 and 6) said so.

Highly recommend this condo

I throughly enjoyed my stay at this ground floor corner unit in Solano Beach. It was so wonderful to sit and watch the ocean from the living room and master bedroom and also the very large outdoor patio. I would recommend this unit and I look forward to staying there again.

The 2nd bedroom was like a second master. You could walk to almost anything from this location. The only negatives were that we constantly were fighting an ant battle, there was no shade on the patio(so you couldn't really sit outside if it was hot out) and the owners had a lot of their things in the kitchen so it was hard to find places to put your items.The management company, Stubbs, was very response to any maintenance requests which was great!

Needs some updating and repair

The location was great however the interior needs updating. The patio is large but needs repair. Loose tiles are a trip hazard and the cliff on the other side of the patio is deteriorating and has not been reinforced. Sections obviously dropped off. The water was turned off for the entire complex by the management for a good 2 and a half hours without notice and the tv box was not working in the bedroom. Management is extremely inflexible with check in and check out. Overall would not recommend the unit or the management (Stubbs vacation rental) but definitely the location.

Thank you for your review, Regina. We were unaware of the water shut off, but when we immediately called the HOA, they let us know it was an emergency repair. The HOA is in the process of repairing and reinforcing the bluff. We sent someone out to repair the TV, but our solution was refused. When possible we are happy to allow flexibility on check in and/or check out. This unit was a "turn" on both your arrival and departure dates and therefore we could not accommodate any changes to the check in and check out times.

This was very easy to book our vacation. It was my first time using VRBO and the process was simple. The pictures and the area were spot on. I would use this again in the future.
