Sandy Crack - Ein Surf-Cottage mit Seitenstraßen

Ein gut ausgestattetes, einstöckiges, 300 m² großes Cottage, etwas mehr als 100 m vom ruhigen Zugang zum Strand entfernt. Dieses offene Haus mit 3 Schlafzimmern und 2 Bädern liegt in einer malerischen und ruhigen Seitenstraße, die von alten Eichen gesäumt wird. Die bewaldete Umgebung des Hauses bietet viele Gelegenheiten, Füchse, Frösche, etc. viele Monate des Jahres zu sehen. Sie sind weit genug von der Straße entfernt, um keine Autos auf der Insel zu hören. Meistens hört man nur das Geräusch von Wellen, die den Strand treffen. Sehr wenig Umgebungslicht von Tonnen von Häusern und Straßenbeleuchtung, so viele tolle Sterne sehen.

Der Strandbereich vor dem Zugangspunkt ist wegen des Mangels an nahegelegener "Hausdichte" nicht überfüllt. Es ist eine ruhige Gegend mit vielen Familien. Nur 1,5 km von der Innenstadt von Surf City und dem Pier entfernt.

Die Küche ist komplett mit vielen Besteck für viele gute Mahlzeiten ausgestattet. Enthält eine Kaffeemaschine, Küchenmaschine, Toaster, Mixer und eine Vielzahl von Töpfen Pfannen zum Kochen ein wunderbares Essen. Es gibt Bar Sitzgelegenheiten an der Küchentheke für 4 Personen und einen Esstisch aus massiver Eiche mit 6 Sitzplätzen.

Our second year in a row staying at Sandy Crack and we couldn't love it more! Ian is such a thoughtful and amazing host! Clear communication, clean, lots of "homey" touches to make our stay amazing. Easy and quick access to the beach with a private beach access. Quiet road with nice neighbors. Just such a gem of a place. Everything you need in the kitchen, some added touches like books and movies, comfy beds, a super comfy couch. I could go on and on! A very special mention that Ian and his family left a very thoughtful card (and gift card to our favorite spot - Shaka Taco) in rememberable of our dog who passed away suddenly just a week before our trip. We couldn't believe this kind gesture and it brought tears to my partners eyes. We are still in awe of how nice this small but amazingly kind gesture was! Sandy Crack and Ian are truly incredible!!

Fantastic stay at a fantastic house!

We had an excellent stay at Ian's! This was our fourth year coming to Topsail / Surf City, our first staying at Ian's and it was our favorite stay thus far. Excellent communication. We had an "issue" when we arrived to a clogged toilet, Ian communicated swiftly, found a solution and a plumber was there the next morning fixing the issue (previous guests at some point flushed some paper towels). Ian even sent over a text to let us know about a weather related updated from Surf City. Despite the fact we had a very rainy week, we still managed to enjoy Ian's place and our vaca! Everything was clean and well appointed. Kitchen was great, dining area worked well for dinner and game nights, all the bedrooms were comfy and the showers were great. Honestly, a really fantastic place and Ian communicated effectively and efficiently. We'd definitely stay again. Thanks Ian!

Awesome spot for a beach getaway

Overall this was an excellent property for a quick trip to the beach. While it isn’t on the beachfront, the location was super close and convenient. I appreciated so many small details, that really go into making a rental feel comfortable—from the ease of the door code entry, to the clean fresh scent upon entering, the charging port outlets, to the comfortable back deck seating. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely book again.

Place was great and just as described! Was only my husband and our 2 lil' dogs, and it rained, but the deck sure looked inviting! Has a giant couch perfect for lots of people to hang out at once - many rentals don't have this great feature.

Perfect Location!

This is our second time staying at Sandy Crack, and we had a wonderful time! The owner is very responsive to emails and very accommodating. The location is fantastic and the home is very comfortable for all our needs. Having access to beach chairs at the house was great, so we didn't have to bring ours. We love everything about this house and will definitely be back!

ACTUAL VACATION😃

This is our second stay at the Sandy Crack. There's no worries from check in to check out. Everything was simple. The owner is very quick to respond to just a little things that we had questions about. The home is close enough walk for us to take a quick walk back to get out of the sun or grab a sandwich in the air conditioning before going back to the beach. My husband likes to fish and there is usually space to do that, you're close enough to things to do but far enough away it's not crowded. the kitchen is nicely equipped with most anything you need. We enjoy sitting on the back deck to relax after a great day at the beach. Overall, we really enjoy our vacation at topsail staying at the Sandy Crack. There's no worries which makes it a true vacation. We thank the owner each year for a wonderful, worry free stay at their home!

Home was in a nice quiet street. The home was in spectacular condition and very clean. There were very clear information sheets inside the home for everything you could think of. Supple amount of beach chairs and other outdoor items including charcoal, lighter fluid, and a lighter for the charcoal grill that was provided for use. We did not have to shop for anything other than our groceries for the week! It was an easy walk to the beach access. Stress free keyless check in and out. Information was exchanged with the owner easily and he was very responsive to any questions. We enjoyed our stay!

We are a family of outdoor enthusiasts that love being outside and active, whenever possible. Surf City/Topsail has been a favorite of ours since we moved to NC in 2004. We love the low-key, family-oriented nature of the island and really like the lack of commercialization. We are also a family of surfers and really like the miles of uncrowded beach breaks, right out front.

Off the beaten path on an oak tree lined street. Quiet and tranquil. Topsail Island and Surf City are one of a handful of remaining NC beach towns that commercialization has not caught up to. You won't find miles of neon signs, fast food restaurants, arcades, loud bars or nightclubs. Wilmington has all of those things and more and is under 30 mins away.

Only 100 yards from deeded beach access. Because of the lack of building density at and around the house, the beach never gets crowded. The back deck of the house looks out onto a wooded buffer between neighboring street. The sound is only 100 yards away as well. You could easily launch a kayak from there. Beach/Sound. Has it all!
A sidewalk parallel to Route 50 is 100 yards away. If you don't want to run on the beach, you can run south on a sidewalk all the way into the town of Topsail Beach, 5 miles away. A bike path on the road shoulder starts about 3/4 miles from the house and runs 10 miles north, to the town of North Topsail. Really nice for a great, fast road ride spin.
