I was genuinely surprised by this review, as I had explained the additional costs in detail several weeks before your arrival, including the extra guest fee and the increased 2026 amenity band fees required by WaterColor. I also provided the HOA receipt showing the increase. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response until just before your stay. During our later conversation, you acknowledged that the amenity fee increase was outside of my control as the homeowner and stated that you wanted to speak with VRBO after seeing the receipt. You also apologized once you realized the charge came directly from the HOA. For that reason, I was especially surprised to later receive a 3-star review based largely on those same fees. Throughout your stay, all communication from your group was positive. You repeatedly shared how much you enjoyed the home and how well it worked for your family, and no concerns were raised during the visit. The home had also been deep cleaned after the busy spring break season prior to your arrival. After checkout, housekeeping actually had to spend additional time cleaning because of excessive hair left throughout the home, including inside drawers, and we chose not to charge your group for the extra cleaning. We always strive to provide an excellent experience & appreciate constructive feedback. However, I do feel it is important to clarify that the fees referenced were disclosed in advance, documented, & beyond our control.
