Kim, Thank you for taking the time to review our home. Any review is appreciated as it provides us feedback on our guest's experience. Our goal is to always ensure that our guests have an enjoyable and relaxing vacation at our LBI beach property. Because of that, we take the time to make sure that all aspects of our home are in working order, as well as clean and aesthetically pleasing. My partners or I, as well as our cleaning crew, do a thorough inspection between guests to make sure that everything is clean and in working order before the next party arrives. Furthermore, we are easily reachable and respond to texts, phone calls, and emails immediately should you need to reach us. In addition, every guest is sent a household inventory list (as were you) to review as well as a thorough package of house information and directions. This pack provides pertinent info on where things are, who to contact in case of an emergency, where to find things such as the garage door opener, circuit breakers, and how to use the household amenities. It is strongly suggested and recommended that all guests review this pack and do a quick check of the inventory list so that in the event something is missing or broken upon your arrival, you can immediately alert us to this fact and we can make proper adjustments. I was at the house before you and your guests arrived on May 4, 2021, and I was there immediately after your guests departed on May 9, 2021. The front door was in working condition when I left. It was actually a brand new Anderson door installed by a licensed contractor only 2 months before your stay. When I returned just after your stay, I could not even open the screen door and had to enter the house through the back door, as the front screen door was jammed shut and pulled away from the frame. If it was broken when you arrived, then you wouldn’t have been able to enter through that door either. I needed to bring in a contractor to make an emergency repair to the door prior to the next guest's visit later that day. As a rule, we do not deduct from a guest's security for even minor breakage, as we consider that a cost associated with doing business. It is only used for major incidents like your case when a guest or someone from their group breaks a front door. In addition, we are a pet-friendly house and love dogs as much as everyone else. We have always returned the refundable dog deposit and have never kept even a dollar of anyone’s dog deposit as of yet. And that is true for you as well. Your dog deposit in the amount of $500 was fully refunded to you via Venmo on 5/28/21. Lastly, we have four full-size garbage cans and three full-size recycle bins outside the house in the garbage area corral. This has been sufficient for all of our other guests to easily dispose of their week's trash and recyclables. We have never had a problem before with trash being left outside the home and not inside the bins. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay at Oasis by the Sea, as we aim to please our guests and ensure that their week with their friends and family on LBI is relaxing, special, and memorable.
