Thank you for your review and for visiting the villa. We appreciate your comments. We are surprised to hear this and do deep clean our bathrooms regularly and will check on this and handle it promptly.

We have owned and managed our Destiny Beach Villa since 2004 and received many incredibly wonderful 5-star views on this site, along with other rental sites. Our repeat guest rental rate is well over 50%, with many guests staying many times throughout the year. In March 2021 we renovated our villa downstairs with the guidance of a well-known interior designer and purchased many new pieces of furniture and accessories, including an original painting from a renowned local artist. Unfortunately, in regard to the above review, we find the need to question the motives, truthfulness and character of an individual (Mr. Burton) who would leave such a negative review, especially when he did not even stay at the property. When this guest arrived, the AC was not working properly, even though it had recently been serviced for the annual AC review. The guest was rude when he called and threatened to leave unless the issue could be resolved within 10 minutes. He continued to text with “options” for us, in demanding, ill-mannered texts. We called the AC company who arrived within an hour to repair the minor issue in the unit. The timing was communicated to the guest and we kindly asked him to wait and return after a dinner we would gladly reimburse him for. In the meanwhile, we drove to the unit to meet both the guest and the repair company. When we arrived, the guest was not at the unit; we called and he began screaming and said he had left and made other reservations at a nearby resort and wanted a full refund. As owners, we decided we could not allow this type of guest in our family beach home for fear of potential damage he might have caused to the villa. We know guests such as Mr. Burton probably does this sort of thing consistently. We manage many nice properties in addition to our own for more than 15 years and have never encountered an individual this much out of control. VRBO should have reviews for guests because we cannot believe anyone would ever rent to him, knowing what we experienced.

Thank you for the review Emily! The front balcony fronting the Gulf is our favorite place too. We are grateful your family chose our villa for your vacation. Since the villa is our family's personal beach home we we fill it with the many things we love to make it the perfect place to relax and spend valuable time together. Please tell your friends!
