We love “accurate” constructive feedback from our guests. However, this is out right slander. This review was only prompted after the guest was asked about damage (which I’m sure was an accident). He became irate and responded with, “This review will be incredibly harsh, and I will make sure no one books your listing again.” This is awful retaliation for holding them accountable. Accidents happen, that’s why we have insurance. Fortunately, we have been doing this for an extremely long time and know that 99.9% of the guests make this venture fulfilling and worthwhile. However, once in awhile you will encounter the .1% where it’s impossible to satisfy like Jim and his party. Individuals that think it’s ok to treat people as their own verbal punching bag, are disgusted by the thought of someone ever using items before them, smoking in the home, and treating listings like a frat house. We went way above and beyond to satisfy some of these outlandish requests. We brought them a brand-new refrigerator and grill because they didn’t like that someone else used them before. These items were clean and in working condition. We were also insulted at 2am because they didn’t know how to use a standard remote control. I just hope that new hosts don’t encounter guests like these on their first reservation and give up. They’re an anomaly and there’s still great people out there.
