Top Notch Indeed !!!

We loved it here. The condo was clean, comfortable & decorated very nice. The kitchen had every thing you needed, I was impressed. A few things not mentioned on the amenities they also had. Like a crock pot, several board games & an Iron. We loved our view from the balcony & how easy it was to be right on the beach. We hope to be able to return to this area and condo again.

First off, the property owners have the place perfect! Small touches, beautiful deck furniture new dishwasher my wife and son loved the 2 bedroom unit. Now the horrible news. We had to deal with Surf or sound reality, the company that refused to refund over 800 renters their money due to Covid. We had no AC the first 2 days and the last 2 days. Called the emergency rental number 18 times Sat and Sun, no answer so I had to drive to the rental office to find them open and just ignoring calls. Spoke with the manager Paul who quoted me exact paragraph / line # that A/C is not a guaranteed but a luxury. It was 93% humidity and 78 deg on our thermostat and my son has a breathing disability. Ol yea, it was Fathersday too... I said do you have another place so we dont need to leave? No he said if you leave your loss. Nice start to a vac my son checked off calendar days for 2 years. I was speechless.. Tech came out and got it working but only until Thursday morning. Same mess started again so unfortunately we left. I guarantee the people the following week had no A/C again. Google Dale Petty and Surf and sound, hes the owner. This rental company and their refusal to return calls and correct the problem right ruined our family vac. So sad, such a perfect property too...

It is a beautifully appointed unit and we are thrilled to hear that you and your family appreciated all of the owners’ attention to upgrades and detail and that you considered the property ”perfect”. Please know that we are proud to have worked tirelessly throughout the unprecedented global COVID-19 pandemic to find appropriate resolutions for 100% of parties affected by the Dare County road closures. Our records show that a technician from our HVAC service provider responded in a timely fashion on the day that the issue was reported (Sunday) and the file notes that the guests were appreciative. Please also know that the widespread labor shortages have affected us all and that we are working hard to recruit additional help as we, at times, experience call volumes that exceed our ability to answer them all in real time. Our hardworking teams often stay late, after hours, to listen to and respond to every call we receive each day. Because you did not give us give us an opportunity to address the second issue on Thursday, our carpet cleaning crew discovered the outage on Saturday after your scheduled check out. The minor wiring issue was resolved quickly that day, and the unit has not experienced HVAC outages for the remainder of the season. We are dismayed to hear that you found your vacation to be such a disappointment. On behalf of everyone here, we all hope that – with some time – you might find a way to grant us another opportunity to impress and delight you in the way that all of our teams are confident that we can. We also hope that you will consider amending this review of an otherwise wonderful property so that others might find it here on Vrbo and enjoy it.

Great mini vacation!

From booking through to check in we had a very pleasant experience with vrbo. The condo was lovely, with very comfortable furniture and bedding! A short walk to the beach was wonderful! Too bad hurricane Dorian cut out vacation short, but we definitely enjoyed the time we were there!

Relax at Top Notch

The condo of Top Notch is a very relaxing and private, it was very clean and maintained very well, however we did have a problem with the washing machine, someone washed their beach clothes on it and didn’t clean it proper leaving a lot of sand in the washing machine. That is the only problem we had . We enjoyed staying at the top notch and the management was great to work with.
