Absolutely beautiful property! It was exceptionally clean and cozy. I loved the fact that the kitchen had just about every utensil and appliance you could possibly need, although I did bring some of my own things from home, we didn’t need them after all. The view from the porch was breathtaking, the neighbors were kind My in laws enjoyed it very much. We are already planning to come back next summer.

Clean and convenient

We had a great time at this townhome set right on the beach. It was great to also have a community pool that was close and not crowded. There is a washer/dryer in the home. We could walk to some nearby restaurants to eat. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

Excellent stay!

Very impressed with the level of communication and responsiveness with an issue that came up very soon after arrival. Totally knocked it out of the park! The view of and proximity to the beach is worth every penny. We are making plans to return soon!

Great spot!

Location was thee best part! Some things weren't cleaned up to par for us but we just did it ourselves. The couches and chair cushions were stained/gross. The dryer handle was broken off so we had to pry the door with a butter knife. Overall the location was our favorite part! We would definitely go back here!

The property is perfect. Close to walk everywhere on the beach. Not impressed with Gulf Sand rental check in policy. It would be much better to have a combination lock on the door of the condo and not have to go to their office to pick up keys and the same to return. They must work from home, office closed.

Location was good for the Hangout Festival, but that’s it.

The location of this condo was perfect for the Hangout Festival for my daughter and her college friends..I can not imagine renting this and bring my 3 younger children… for starters checking into this condo was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever experienced.. I have never had to drive and pick up keys in a locked box.. outside of a rental office that’s open until 5pm. however is closed to the public? Traffic was awful road was blocked so you had to pass the office and back track back to the rental company for the key pickup. communication on the inability to turn into the parking lot would have been wonderful. A key pad check in system would be so much more efficient! You check in at 4pm. Unload your car, and then have to find the security guard selling the parking passes? He was sitting on a folding chair smoking by a car. It was absolutely ridiculous. Also who has cash? Paying when booking would have much easier, and having the pass ready for the renters. The condo was not clean, extremely dusty, dirty floors, dirty carpet upstairs, dirty nasty baseboards. I can provide photos if needed. Most of the furniture looked rough . The third floor was extremely hot when we arrived, blinds open baking the room, terrible air circulation. Preheated the oven and it was smoking like it was on fire. It had not been cleaned between renters. Also it’s not mentioned, you share the main deck with two other rental units. Extremely uncomfortable to sit, and watch the sunset with strangers.

Hi Patrick, We regret to see the low star rating. Families of all ages come to enjoy Ocean Reef throughout the year. We do include a detour route to the office due to the roadwork. Please see your email. This unit currently has traditional keys so the check-in method is at the office. We supply all this information up front so guests know what to expect. Yes, we'll be reaching out to you for the photos as the unit was inspected prior to your arrival with no issues. We'll pass the housekeeping feedback to the cleaner so she's aware of the oven issue. We did not hear from you at any point during your stay to address any concerns and it can take several weeks to see reviews during busy season. Please call or email so we have the opportunity to address any issues. We understand you booked this property for the proximity to the Hangout Fest and glad it met your needs.

We really loved our stay at Ocean Reef 802! Extremely spacious for my husband, myself, and our three kids. Pretty comfy beds, nicely decorated, BEAUTIFUL Pyrex bowls in the kitchen. Appliances are nice and up to date. We shared the deck with neighboring tenants and they were very kind and friendly. Once you step off your deck, you’re right on the beach. Very family friendly. The pool was small but fine. Lots of kids of all ages there and they all played well with our children. Beautiful views of the ocean from the living room and the master bedroom. My ONLY complaint was that there was an empty can of 4 lokos behind the toilet and a random spoon in one of the bedroom closets and several ping pong balls under the couches 😂😂 so whoever was there before us had a great time 😂😂 housekeeping just overlooked a few things. However those little things were definitely not enough to keep us from booking there again. We would LOVE to come back to ocean reef 802 the next time we visit gulf shores! Thanks for the amazing memories!

Exactly what we needed

We came to Gulf Shores for softball. The condo was newly remodeled on the first floor and tastefully decorated and painted throughout. Just a few steps off the deck and you have your toes in the sand. Would highly recommend.

Great location, but just a few things...

We loved the location and being able to walk outside and be on the beach. One thing I didn't realize, that I think is important to note, is you do share a back porch with 2 other condos so that is just a bit odd. The beds are also incredibly uncomfortable. I've seen responses from management saying that everyone has their own type of bed preference but unless you like to sleep on incredibly old, hard, uncomfortable mattresses you're going to have an issue. I am never ready to leave the beach but was so looking forward to a good night's sleep. We did have to contact the property mgr twice and they are so extremely kind and quick to assist. I can't say enough positive about that experience.

Needs serious replacement and repair.

We could not open the freezer, it was frozen shut. The entire refrigerator moved when opening the freezer. The ice maker struggled every day. Although I paid a cleaning fee, I had to clean before I left. However, being dependent upon renters to do this cleaning, we found dirty cups, glasses, plates and silver when we arrived & had to clean everything upon arrival and upon departure! What's the cleaning fee for? I had a bad accident in the master bath shower. The metal drain is loose & I slipped on it. Could have been much worse. FIT IT!!! My first morning I took my tea out to the deck to enjoy some deck time. My tea cup immediately fell off the deck table. The table is so rusted that 2 of the legs are 4-5 inches shorter making it wobble & impossible to keep anything on top. That night I opened the screen door in the master bedroom. It is full of golf ball sized holes! The neighbor/owner Lori, blocked off one entire end of the deck obstructing the access/egress stairs in order to let her yappy dogs out. These dogs bark morning, noon and night. Every time we tried to take a nap, they woke us up. We will not be renting this property again.

Hi, thanks for your note, but we heard nothing from the guest. Freezer has had no issue prior or subsequent to this guest. Refrigerator ice machines will not keep up with vacation rental use, we regret. A few cubes every few hours only, and the tray is dumped prior to check in for COVID, as other people's hands may have touched ice. We do not require any guest cleaning, simply take out the trash and wash the dishes. All rentals in the city require this. The unit, rooms, floors, baths, showers, linens, sink, kitchen and refrigerator are the cleaning and handled completely by the crews. We appreciate your comment on the deck table, as no one had mentioned it. It was immediately replaced and we would have been happy to replace while you were there if you had called or emailed. Overall review

The location was perfect but the quality of everything in the condo was subpar. The beds were so uncomfortable that no one got a good night sleep. I also wonder what the $300+ cleaning fee is for since we had to clean everything before we left, including putting all clean dishes away. It makes a 10 am check-out super tough. Waiting for the dishwasher to run, but better not have breakfast or drink anything while you wait. Plus the one kitchen trash bag provided seems stingy.

Hi, thanks for your note. Please remember only starter items provided, as we send your 'things to remember to bring' list that notes one bag per can, etc, before all guests leave home. Upon departure guests only have to take the trash out and put away dishes, as all of the major cleaning, baths and bedding is up to the crews. This is standard in every condo on the beach too. Glad you enjoyed your stay, and regret you didn't enjoy the bedding. This is a personal preference item, and all our previous guests have enjoyed the beds, but we will be sure the owner gets your feedback. Hope you travel to our beaches again soon!

Great place!

We had an amazing stay. The beach is so beautiful and this home was so comfortable. Plenty of space and check in was a breeze!
