So glad you visited the Island and appreciated the experience overall. I'm so sorry you had trouble sleeping. Upon investigation, as it creeped us out to read your review-- it turns out that the scratching noises were actually a squirrel family with a baby. Hence, my husband was able to release them into the wild! Keeping the mice at bay, as the evenings become cooler is a constant challenge. We have amped up our repellents and have sealed more little holes between the logs. It's amazing how a mice can fit through the width of a pencil. Hence, a log cabin built in the early 1900s requires ongoing effort. My husband will never fully relax in his role as Island mice police. Plus, mice love dog food and bird seed, so when our guests bring dogs or feed the birds, it seems to bring out a few extras. Thank you for being great guests!
