Great stay! The place is convenient to the highway and beaches. The kitchen was very well stocked--it was wonderful to have dishes and pans to be able to prepare a couple of meals. The house was spotless. We will definitely plan to stay again!

Overall great. Some things that really impressed/exceeded expectations were the kitchen equipment (very high quality and everything we needed including very nice pots/pans and sharper knives and better veg peeler than I have at my home), hot water that never ran out and great water pressure, huge yard with amazing fire pit and chairs everywhere including the pit and deck. Short drive to my favorite ocean beach - Coast Guard. Even a nice message from the host to let us know we could check in a few hours earlier. Thanks!

We had a wonderful time! The house was clean, as advertised. Loved the fenced-in backyard and fire pit, and a very nice wrap-around deck to hang out on. There were six of us, and we were never crowded. I like to cook, and quality pots and pans in the kitchen were quite welcome! Hosts communicated well, and we had no issues "checking" in or out. Great location in the mid-Cape, and multiple fine Eastham beaches within a few minutes. We would certainly rent here again, and we had a very positive experience.

Great location in Eastham for traveling to both bay side and national seashore. House was perfect. Loved the deck snd backyard. Owner responded fast when hd had a question. E fid need yo look ip how yo use briquets for the grill - only wish was that it was a gas grill. But we figured it out. We grill out a lot!

The Barking Urchin was charming, spacious, and clean. The house was thoughtfully stocked. It had kitchen essentials, games and toys for the kids, and books for light beach reading. Our boys loved the big back yard and the basement to play in.The location was excellent. It was only 2 miles away from our favorite bay side beach, First Encounters. It was a short hop from arcades, the Wellfleet drive in and flea market, and so many food options. The street itself was quiet and tucked away. I was able to safely run on the roads and there were many bicyclists, too. The owners were very quick to respond whenever we needed anything or had questions. They were lovely to rent from and very helpful.Everything in the property description is true and we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great vacation!

We had a great time staying here. The house was clean and had everything we could’ve needed. Great outdoor space especially for the kids and awesome outdoor shower. Owners were responsive and easily contacted. We will definitely be back!

Home Away From Home

We loved staying at the Barking Urchin for our week at the Cape. It felt like our home away from home. Clean and cozy with a beautiful yard, wrap around deck and new outdoor shower, it has all the amenities for a wonderful stay. Highly recommend - I know that we’ll be back!

Wonderful Eastham Vacation House

This was our third time staying at the Urchin. We enjoyed family whiffle ball games in the yard, unwinding after the beach, reading, and eating dinner on the deck. The inside space is very inviting and comfortable. Great finished basement area too for the kids to hang out in.

One mile to the bay side. Qne and half mile to the national shore. This house had everything you need - very well stocked and clean.

Wonderful home!

We had a fabulous week- the house is great- clean, very well equipped kitchen, but very close to many restaurants for take out or eat in. Great deck for outdoor meals, and a superb outdoor shower. Owners left a great book full of suggestions and information on the area. Great location close to bay or ocean beaches. We can't wait to go back!

Awesome House and Perfect Location

We had a great time at the house and in the area. It was a perfect location for our son's weddding. The interior of the house reminded us of a cabin in Gatlinburg. The yard was was beautiful and we enjoyed several nights by the fire pit. We highly recommend this house and will rent it again on our next trip to the Cape.

Awesome Cape Cod Rental

Barking Urchin is in a perfect location and is very comfy and cozy. You will find everything you need there. The outdoor shower is the best we’ve ever experienced! The outdoor space is so relaxing and enjoyable. Dana was great to work with!

Barkin Urchin is amazing

This house is super great for a trip to Cape Cod! it is has a great location, a lovely property and was very comfortable for my family of four. I loved the loft master bedroom, the outdoor shower, the quite location which is very close to Wellfleet and some of the best oysters in the world. A great stay. Thank you

Wonderful stay in wonderful house!

This was our 2nd year at the Barking Urchin and it felt like coming home. House is cozy and comfortable with everything you could need for summer vacation on the cape. House is easy mile from campground beach. It has one of the nicest outside shower. And the backyard is great! Owners make it an easy place to hangout!!

Hello, we appreciate the lovely and positive thank you note you left in our house guest book! To clarify this review, our property listing in the first paragraph notes our one mile distance to Bay beaches, and there is no Eastham beach pass parking requirement at Campground Beach or several other Bay beaches in Eastham. The town manages daily parking for visitors and residents alike and information is readily available on the town's website.

Great stay, very responsive to questions .

Enjoyed the high lofted ceilings, having the King sized bed upstairs with it's own bathroom. The basement was also very nice when parts of the family wanted to stay up and watch a movie. The desk in the basement was also helpful for catching up on some work.

Everything that we wanted.

Donna and Steve were quick to respond to inquiries as we prepared for a family vacation. The comfortable updated home is perfectly located between the Bay beaches and the Ocean beaches. Shopping for provisions in Orleans or night life in P-Town are easily accessible. The 1/2 acre fenced lot w/outdoor shower and fire pit is comfy and private. The kitchen is well provisioned and even has sharp knives.

Wonderful Cape Vacation

Stayed with our family of 4 and my dad. Plenty of space for everyone, with nice open living area and finished basement. Beautiful backyard where the boys can play and plenty of shade as well. Back deck is a great place to relax after the beach. Great location with easy access to beaches and restaurants. This was our second time staying here.

Amazing Cape Cod family home

We loved this home! The Barking Urchin is quiet, private, spacious, and extremely comfortable. It is convenient to both ocean and bay beaches, and located near good local businesses. The kids loved the yard, the firepit, and the couches that seem to hug you whenever you sit down. Communication with the owners was excellent. I cannot recommend this home enough; when we come back to the Cape, we would happily return here!

Excellent getaway!

It was a great location...close to several beaches My kids loved the backyard...especially the hammock. The outdoor showers was great too when we came from the beach. The owners were very helpful and responsive to everything. They even asked if we needed help with restaurants and entertainment. The house was well stocked with basic needs (soap, TP, PT, dishes, & spices) We definitely will be staying there again!
