Stunning Mountain Views! Gourmet kitchen, incredible space for a large group. We stayed at this stunning home for a quick family vacation with our grown kids and their spouses. The house was large enough to give everyone their space. Incredibly comfortable beds. We enjoyed the deck for coffee in the morning and sunsets and wine in the evening. We cooked dinner each evening in the gourmet kitchen. We enjoyed the movie room at night. We hiked to Harvard Lakes (8 mile hike) from trails near the house. The house does not have AC but we were comfortable with windows open. Wonderful home!

Our family of 14 thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Buena Vista and this property was adored by all! The theater was so fun and relaxing most evenings, we used every one of the 10 large recliners. The spaciousness of the home kept the littles occupied and none of us ever felt closed in or too near one another. The back deck, AAAHHH! Every afternoon we spent gathered here for cocktails, laughter and bbqing. Such a pleasant surprise was how well the kitchen was stocked, from the ice maker to the selection of cookware, to the seasonings that we were encouraged to use! We were there during upper 80 degree weather and our host guided us in keeping it all cool, turn on the fans and open the windows! With the motorized window screens, it was such a cool relief to our La. heat. Thank you!

The Ponderosa Lodge was Excellent

The Ponderosa Lodge was an excellent accommodation for our three families. The house was beautiful and had all the accommodations we were looking for. Perfect location for white water rafting or hiking 14ers.

This is a great home for multiple families to stay in. We had 3 families stay here and everyone had more than enough room. The view from the back of this home is incredible. Definitely one of the best VRBO stays that we have ever had.

The large beautiful house is perfecf for our family with enough bedrooms and bathrooms, large dining room table to seat all for TDay Dinner, fantastic large kitchen to all cook in together, huge living room, and that game & theater room is fantastic to keep our teen and adult single grandkids busy. LOVE this place!

Beautiful view from large roomy lodge

Great place for 6 siblings with spouses. Lots of rooms to relax and also get ready during our daughter’s wedding weekend. Nice big kitchen with every we needed. View was beautiful.

Spacious, beautiful home, fantastic views

Our friend group really enjoyed our stay. Sometimes pictures can be deceiving but this home is the opposite, it was bigger than expected! The property manager was quick to respond when needed. The view was amazing and the home is located in a nice area to walk in.

This place is better than pictured! Perfect family home with NO DETAIL unattended!

We very comfortably stayed here with 11 adults at the end of a very long two month work experience. We could not have made a better choice for relaxation and pure and total luxury. Not only is this home absolutely stunning and state of the art but every single detail of convenience has been attended to. The beds and linens are top notch making for a cloud like sleep. The main entertainment spaces can not be done a proper justice with pictures alone. During our stay none of us ever wanted to the leave the house and the amenities provided make it so you don't have to!

Family trip with sons families and children

What a beautiful home. Fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms, everything you need to make your vacation fabulous. Heidi was so gracious when she met us at the door and told us about the property. Handbooks with guidelines to help with lights and electronics. Everywhere you look it was a postcard photo. The house decor and attention to details were amazing. We enjoyed the home theater and gazing at the stars from the enormous deck in the evening. We enjoyed the town of Buena Vista and Salida. The kids floated down the river while my son did the the river surfing. Wonderful place to take ones of all ages. So much to do in The area.

Beautiful Home - Great for Large Family Group

This home is beautiful. It is a great layout for a large family or multiple families. It was really nice to have a dining table to seat our entire group. So many homes listed will sleep 10+ people but only have dining space for six. The view from the deck is amazing. Be aware there are a couple of routes into the community from Highway 24 – County Road 365 and County Rod 384. Be sure to take 384; the 365 route is a very rocky, rutted road that must be traveled at a very low speed. The posting indicates the garage is available for parking; it is not.

A beautiful place to stay

I surprised my husband with 4 of his Marine brothers/family joining us at this house. (There were 7 adults, 3 kids.) This was the perfect location for a big group. We loved the physical location- off the beaten path but not too far. The house owners and manager were very responsive. In the house, each family had their own room and bathroom. The guys thoroughly enjoyed the theater room, spending a lot of time in there. (The guys did have a difficult time trying to figure out some of the tech stuff, even the “tech guy.”) I loved that I had plenty of space to find time by myself or out enjoying the view. We cooked every day, 2-3 times a day and the kitchen had everything we needed. They even a had coffee grinder for our fresh ground coffee we are used to having. (2 of us brought our grinders just in case.) Although I didn’t bring my 2 yr old daughter, I appreciated they had a crib and toddler bed as this isn’t always available for those of us who don’t co-sleep with our kids. We have zero negative comments about this beautiful home. Thank you for sharing it.

It’s a luxurious home and we loved our stay there!

The house is huge, luxuriously appointed, kitchen and theater well stocked , in a scenic location and our 3 generation family of 13 loved it! The 7 teens had their own beds and space, plus they loved the pool /ping pong table and theater. The dining room could seat all 13 of us which is important to us plus great kitchen for all our cooking to feed those teenagers!

Fabulous Family Fun!

We are celebrating a big anniversary, so brought our 2 sons, their wives, and families out to Colorado for a week. Everything about our experience at Big Ponderosa Lodge was perfect! Everything we needed was provided - even when we ran out of propane for the deck fire pit, Heidi brought more out the next day. The movie theatre was awesome, bedrooms great, kitchen well supplied, and the views simply Fabulous!! We had a full moon, as well, so it could not have been better!!
