Ludlow lies just across the border in Shropshire (12 miles), home to the atmospheric remains of the 11th-century Ludlow Castle.

Stepping inside the elegantly designed retreat, the hallway has plenty of room for leaving boots and coats before you head through to the spacious lounge. With a Smart TV, a roaring wood burner and plush seating, the beautifully arranged lounge also benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows offering charming views across the garden. Exploring this fabulous hideaway further, the vast open-plan kitchen/diner provides a memorable space for everyone to get together and relax after a fantastic day out. The thoughtfully organised kitchen has a wealth of equipment, with a central island making an ideal spot for preparing family meals and for enjoying a light snack or a hearty breakfast. To one side, the chic dining area sits beneath a high skylight set in the vaulted ceiling, allowing natural light to flood in. The ground floor also offers a shower room and a handy utility cupboard. When it's time to turn in for the night, the first two of the property's three elegant bedrooms are on the ground floor: a relaxing king-size, and a charming Super- king-size room which can be made up as a twin on request. The final bedroom is upstairs – a stylish suite with a sumptuous super-king-size bed, and a day bed that can be made into 2 small beds suitable for children, and a refreshing en-suite bathroom.
Stepping outside, the generous enclosed gardens wrap around the property, featuring a lovely terraced area with ample seating and providing a wonderfully relaxing spot for summer dining. Private off-road parking is available for two cars plus one permit for roadside parking and there is a public car park 25 yards away.
