CURATED PROPERTY PRESENTS: The complete estate: 13 bedrooms across three beautiful Cornish properties sharing the same gardens, sleeping up to 28. Polpier is the 8-bedroom Victorian manor with heated pool, all-weather tennis court, disco, gazebo with wood-fired pizza oven, and games room. Penpol is the 3-bedroom companion with its own kitchen and gardens. The Garden Cottage adds two more en-suite bedrooms for a further 4 guests. A great setup for big family gatherings, milestone birthdays, multi-generation holidays, hen parties, and celebrant weddings (up to 50 with pre-approval). Sit-down meals can be arranged for up to 42. Dogs welcome.
The Space:
Polpier has 8 bedrooms with super-king beds throughout. The Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, Grey, and Honeymoon rooms each have their own bathroom, and the Aqua Suite is two interconnecting bedrooms sharing a family bathroom. The Honeymoon Suite is a short walk from the main house with its own kitchenette, wood burner, and private terrace. Inside Polpier you'll find a four-oven electric Aga plus a separate two-oven electric oven and hob, two large fridge-freezers, two dishwashers, a 16-seater dining table, a snooker room, a drawing room, a family room with two 50" TVs and Bose home cinema, the central hall set up as a full disco (DJ booth, turntables, light show), and a games room with pool table and table tennis.
Penpol adds 3 further en-suite bedrooms (one super-king, two super-king or twin, with two optional single sofa beds in Bedroom 2 by prior arrangement). Penpol has its own electric hob, oven and Aga, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, two 42" TVs, DVD player, and Bose iPod dock. Its dining table seats 10. There's also a separate catering kitchen for larger events.
The Garden Cottage adds 2 more en-suite bedrooms sleeping 4 (one king, one super-king or twin), giving you a self-contained option ideal for grandparents, older kids, or guests who want a bit of independence from the main house.
Across the estate: a library of books, board games, iPod docks with Bose radio in each property, and Blu-Ray DVD players with a DVD library.
Outside: two acres of gardens with flower beds, orchards, herb gardens, and a goldfish pond. The fenced heated pool runs Easter Weekend to end of September, with sun loungers on the terrace. There's an all-weather tennis court (please bring your own equipment), a croquet set, and a covered gazebo with wood-fired pizza oven (wood provided). Each property has its own terrace for al fresco dining. Two BBQs are available April to end of September: a large gas BBQ (gas provided) and a small coal BBQ (charcoal provided). Step-free access into the properties and across the ground floors. All bedrooms are on upper floors.
Guest Access:
Exclusive use of all three properties (13 bedrooms in total), all gardens, the heated pool, all-weather tennis court, gazebo, disco, and games room. Included: linen, towels and essentials, tea and coffee for arrival, hairdryers, Wi-Fi, logs and kindling for the wood burners, and use of washing machines and tumble dryers (please bring your own pool towels). Three travel cots and three highchairs are available (please bring your own cot bedding). DVDs, books, board games, and toys for children.
The Neighborhood:
Polpier sits high above Mevagissey, 5 miles south of St Austell on Cornwall's south coast. Local pubs include The Fountain Inn (seafood), The Ship Inn (pub classics, navy-strength gin), and the dog-friendly Crown Inn. Salamander does small plates well, and tiny Portuguese spot Alvorada is worth booking ahead. Lobb's Farm Shop is excellent for fresh meat. Takeaways from The Fishermen's (fish and chips) and Mevagissey Spice (Indian).
For days out: The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, Carlyon Bay Spa, Knightor Winery and Restaurant, Twilight Escape Rooms, St Austell Golf Course, The Tide Climbing Centre, Cornwall Watersports, the Tate at St Ives, and Adrenalin Quarry. For families with children: Cornwall Surf Academy, the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, Carnglaze Caverns, Screech Owl Sanctuary, and the World of Model Railways.
Getting Around:
Mevagissey is a working fishing harbour and best explored on foot. The pubs, harbour, shops, and restaurants are all a short walk down the hill. Walk to the beach via coastal paths from either end of the village. To explore wider Cornwall you'll want a car, with parking on site for 10+ vehicles. Taxis are available locally.
Nearest train station: St Austell, 15 minutes by car (6 miles), with direct services from London Paddington (around 4.5 hours).
Nearest airport: Newquay, 45 minutes by car.
