The stay was nice and beds were very comfortable. The villa could definitely use some updates and maybe some blackout blinds in the bedrooms. It was impossible to sleep in and it did stay warmer than we would have liked upstairs. The location was great for shopping and the beaches.

Great Location in Perdido

We had a perfect apartment for our family of four. We really enjoyed the pool and tiki bar. The location is great for nearby restaurants and trips to the grocery store.

We will be back!

This was the perfect week to stay here! It wasn’t busy whatsoever and the resort was clean & beautifully landscaped. The home itself was amazing and spacious! It was close to beach & many state parks and venues.

Family Vacation

We had a great time! The bedrooms were not very cool. Other than that it was a great location. Short drive to the beach. The pool, Tiki bar and grill were great.

Nice home in a gated community

Beautiful home in a gated community. Communication with host and management was easy. Outdoor pool was our favorite part, live music was a plus. 1 minute drive from beaches.

Baseball Week- Great Location and stay

Accommodations were perfect for all, the pool and tiki bar were excellent. The only downside was the owner responded with short responses, seemed disinterested and made me nervous accommodations, but surprisingly good despite disengagement. So all was good, just don’t expect him to sound friendly and inviting and all will work out.

Labor Day Family Vacation

We stayed at this rental from Monday - Friday. The location is just minutes (by car) from multiple Perdido Key public beach accesses and is about a 15 minute drive to Orange Beach. The self check in and check out process was easy. The pool and bar were great and the outdoor area was well kept. The host has a number of beach chairs and pool floats available for use. My only issue with this rental was that the beds were not very comfortable.

Not as expected

The Purple Parrot (PP) grounds were nice and well maintained. Great proximity to grocery store (less than 1 mile) and really wonderful restaurants. (Zeke's is a MUST DO for seafood foodies. We had a fantastic waitress -- Thanks Bella!!) Nice that the PP is a gated community. Cute cottage layouts and the pool was GREAT! Unfortunately, our cottage unit was not as expected since I had searched VRBO for "highly rated for cleanliness." After an 8 hour travel day, we needed to include cleaning products in our trip to the grocery store so we could then go back and clean the bathrooms before we felt comfortable using. Partially used bath soap left in both full bathrooms, showers not thoroughly cleaned, a toilet paper holder that was pulled out of the wall when we arrived, a bathroom window curtain held in place by bent small metal rod to create "tension" held in place within the tracks of the window and a towel bar in the other bathroom that fell anytime you lifted a towel off the bar.Blinds that couldn't be opened because there was no "wand." No curtain to provide privacy offered over the front French door. Outdoor chairs on upper deck too filthy to consider sitting in when a little care and elbow grease would have gone a LONG way. If you have ANY back or hip problems, don't count on sleeping well as the mattresses do not offer good support (especially in the smaller bedroom). AC struggled to keep up with the heat on the upper floor - especially arrival day.

The location is perfect, the pool is amazing, pool staff, are very fun laid back atmosphere. We wanted to give them -5 Stars but their are things they could improve on. Original arrival at condo, it’s very cute has the kitchen necessities and linens, but it could be cleaner. Needs a deep clean on a regular basis since I’m sure it stays booked. Then there is no extra of the small things - trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels. No dish soap at all, no detergent. We stayed last year at Baypoint Townhomes and they went above and beyond to accommodate the out of town traveler. If you are flying from NY or CA you can’t fly dish soap or detergent and you can’t possibly add a whole extra bag to get the week necessities on you. If you’re going to require 5-7 day stays give the little perks to the out of town people that are visiting that are really funding the bookings. Provide at minimal -5 trash bags, some tide pods, and 1 extra roll of TP. Shows you really care about your guest and their comfort vs… trying to save $20 per family. We loved the spot, but that stopped us from saying 5/5.

wonderful time!

We had a great time at the Purple Parrot in Perdido Key! My friend and I decided we needed a break from our families for a few days, and we couldn't have picked a better place! It was just the right amount of space, the condo was clean, well appointed, in a great area, really close to the beach, and close to everything else. We had a great time and couldn't have asked for a better host or check in/out process. We'll definitely be back!!

Under Construction AC broke in 2 condos

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First condo was not cleaned(food all over floor, counters, stove) we cleaned and disinfected everything after we arrived. Kitchen was not finished with construction and the stairs had no carpet only bare floor. 2 hours after checking in, AC stops working. Called Perdido key property management, was told I could either get money back for stay or wait for a technician. Around 11 pm they found us a 3 bedroom condo. The bottom floor AC was froze upon arrival. The 2nd floor had its own AC and luckily it was working. The condos were not clean and under construction. They should complete construction of the flooded condos before renting to guest. We will never stay at the purple parrot again.
