Private hot tub, fireplace and the New Forest on your doorstep
Cosy Forest Cottage is a self-contained, characterful retreat set in the village of Cadnam, right at the gateway to the New Forest National Park. Built with warm timber-clad interiors and featuring a striking timber-frame construction with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, this is a property that feels genuinely different from the moment you arrive. Sleeping up to four guests across one beautifully appointed mezzanine bedroom, it is perfectly suited to couples seeking a restorative escape, families with young children, or anyone who wants to slow down and reconnect with the natural world on their doorstep.
What sets this cottage apart is the rare combination of character, comfort, and outdoor living. A private hot tub sits on the decked garden beneath a wooden pergola, the indoor fireplace brings warmth and atmosphere to the evenings, and full-height sliding glass doors blur the boundary between inside and out. Whether you are here for a weekend or a longer stay, Cosy Forest Cottage is the kind of place that is very hard to leave.

A Home to Relax and Unwind
From the moment you step inside, this cottage wraps you in warmth. The timber-frame construction, wooden-clad walls, and vaulted ceiling with exposed beams give the interior a genuine sense of character that you simply will not find in a modern rental. The open lounge draws you in with its deep orange sofa, patterned floor, and wall-mounted TV, all set beneath the impressive height of the mezzanine above. In cooler months, the indoor fireplace becomes the heart of the cottage — the kind of feature that makes evenings feel truly special.
When the mood calls for the outdoors, simply slide open the full-height glass doors from the kitchen and seating area and step straight onto the decking. The private hot tub, covered by a wooden pergola and surrounded by mature greenery and timber fencing, offers complete seclusion. Whether you are unwinding after a long day in the forest or enjoying a quiet evening under the stars, the outdoor space here is one of the cottage`s most celebrated features.
The Layout
The cottage is thoughtfully arranged across two levels, making excellent use of its characterful timber-frame structure.
On the ground floor, the open living and kitchen area forms the social heart of the home. The lounge features a large orange sofa, coffee table, wall-mounted TV, and the much-loved indoor fireplace, all set beneath the soaring vaulted ceiling. A wooden staircase rises from the living area up to the mezzanine level above. The kitchen sits alongside the lounge and has been fully equipped for comfortable self-catering, with dark fitted units, a wooden-clad ceiling and walls, a stone-effect worktop, and a striking patterned tile floor. Full-height sliding glass doors connect this space directly to the outdoor decking and garden.
The bathroom is on the ground floor and features a black-framed glass shower enclosure, white brick-effect wall tiling, a dark vanity unit, and a wall-mounted mirror. Shampoo, body soap, and shower gel are provided for guests.
The mezzanine level houses the double bedroom, which feels genuinely special — a double bed dressed with decorative cushions sits beneath exposed timber beams, with wooden balustrade railings on either side and a window letting in natural light. A small desk area is also available on the mezzanine level.
The cottage is well set up for families with young children. A high chair, crib, and travel cot are all available on request.

Location
Cadnam sits right at the gateway to the New Forest National Park, one of England`s most treasured and iconic landscapes. The village has a peaceful, rural character while keeping guests well connected to a wide range of days out and local amenities. Ancient forest, open heathland, and the chance to spot New Forest ponies roaming freely are all just moments from the door — ideal for woodland walks, cycling, and wildlife spotting at any time of year.
The nearby village of Lyndhurst — widely regarded as the unofficial capital of the New Forest — offers a good selection of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and the New Forest Museum, all just a very short drive away. Brockenhurst, a short drive south, is a popular base for forest cycling and walking, with open land where ponies and other wildlife can be seen grazing freely. For families, Paultons Park — home to Peppa Pig World — is one of the south of England`s most visited family attractions and is reachable in just a few minutes by car.
Lymington, on the edge of the Solent, makes for a wonderful coastal day out, with a weekly market, independent boutiques, and ferry connections to the Isle of Wight. Southampton city centre, with its range of shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions, is also comfortably within reach.
