Outside, there is a private garden with a hot tub and off-road parking, plus EV charging available. Within 4.2 miles, you will find a shop, within 1.5 miles, a pub, and within 1.1 miles, a river. Ten well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Tawny Barn offers a splendid retreat, whatever time of year. Please note: This property only accepts a minimum of 3-night stays during Christmas and New Year (between 22nd December 2025 - 5th January 2026) The rest of the year, there is a minimum of 2 nights.



The Neighborhood:

This old village, which dates back to Roman times, sits on the fringes of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 10 miles from the coast. It is often referred to as 'Old Martlesham' to distinguish it from the newer neighbouring village of Martlesham Heath which is just 40 years old. Martlesham Village is a fantastic base for a cottage holiday, it provides you with the essential amenities in a Post Office Store, two pubs, one of which dates back to the 1500's, and a fish and chip shop. The village is also home to Martlesham Creek, popular for sailing as it flows into the River Deben and down to the coast. If you would rather drive to the coast, visit Felixstowe just 10 miles away, it boasts a wide range of amenities along with a stunning beach with an amusement arcade. Slightly closer is Suffolk's county town, Ipswich, it proves itself to be a great day out with its shopping centre, cinema and series of parks.
