The Neighborhood:

Akti Nireos on Evia is a laid-back coastal base where you can keep days simple and sea-focused without feeling cut off. Within about a 6-minute drive there are restaurants and traditional taverns for fresh fish, grilled meats, and long, late dinners by the water. For bigger shops and practical errands, markets can be found in the town of Aliveri, around a 10-minute drive from the area.



Around Akti Nireos, the best plan is often no plan at all: start with a swim, linger over coffee, then take an easy drive along the South Euboean Gulf to see how the coastline changes from small coves to longer bays. If you like being active, the local shoreline is also known for water sports like windsurfing and sailing when the breeze picks up, and the evenings are ideal for a slow walk near the sea before choosing a taverna for dinner.



For beaches, you have several good options close by, each with a slightly different feel. Akti Nireos Beach is essentially on your doorstep, and nearby you can reach Kalami Beach at about 1.5 km and Kampos Beach at about 3 km for a change of scenery and swimming spots. Mouse pebbly Beach is also very close—roughly 2 km from Akti Nireos—making it an easy “quick dip” beach. For a longer seaside promenade and more cafés right on the waterfront, Amarynthos pebbly Beach sits at roughly 8 km away.

Chalkida-a 50 min ride- is the major point of the island of Evia. In the city of Chalkida, days naturally revolve around the water and the unique rhythm of the Euripus Strait. You can start with a walk along the lively waterfront promenade, where cafés line the sea and locals gather for coffee with a view. A must-see is the famous Euripus Bridge, where the tides mysteriously change direction several times a day, creating a rare natural phenomenon that draws curious onlookers. Climb up to Karababa Castle for panoramic views over the city and the strait, especially beautiful at sunset. Wander through the old town streets to discover small shops, traditional bakeries, and relaxed tavernas serving fresh seafood. History lovers can explore local churches and archaeological traces that reflect the city’s long past.

You may reach the property by car. The premises are about 50min by car from the city of Chalkida.
