We are close to interstate 20 and when the wind is blowing in the direction of the building you can hear the traffic.

We loved having Symantha stay with us. She’s welcome back anytime.

Amy booked our condo on June 6th 2021 for a reservation starting November 4th 2021. The visit was to attend the Repticon exhibit in town for the weekend. She stated it would be 2 couples traveling together. Our cancellation policy is listed a moderate on VRBO. It is clear that no refunds will be given for cancellation at check- in. When she arrived she sent a message through VRBO that stated " Hi, although the inside of this place is lovely the neighborhood is downright scary. We are leaving. I would like a full refund please. We have put the key back in the lockbox" No other explanation provided. We have no idea what she determined was downright scary. My family including Wife and 3 daughters stay there at least once a month and have NEVER encountered anything downright scary. Amy then sent me a text to my cell phone that stated the property was completely unsafe and that she would like a refund. I responded to her text and asked what was unsafe? She said the neighborhood in general. She said she felt uncomfortable being the only unit around the back of the building with no neighbors. That is a false statement. The unit directly below our unit has a retired law officer living there full time. The unit to the left of the law officer has a grandmother and her 2 grandchildren there full time. She stated that the building has poor lighting plus having out of town license plates was threatening to her. She continued through text to say that had we provided pictured of the exterior they would never have booked. Amy then stated through text that a refund is warranted. We have over 56 reviews from travelers all are 4.5 to 5 stars. In Amy's review she stated that this is a run down, terrible neighborhood. Amy then with no REAL reason decided it was not safe to stay in the unit. Amy stated that I would not communicate with her so she contacted VRBO. All of this after we texted multiple times. VRBO contacted me and we discussed our moderate refund policy. We refused to refund the booking based on the lack of ANY evidence of threat or other actions that would make a NORMAL traveler feel unsafe. The exteriors of all 6 building are under renovation at this time and the HOA is in charge of that project. Our unit has a New roof at this point and all New siding is in process. The parking lots are scheduled to be resurfaced and landscaping improved. This is a extended project and will be completed with HOA funding. All we control is the interior of our unit.
