This apartment is a dream come true!!! Just like others I was a little concerned about the pictures and what we would find in the apartment. When we entered the view was so overwhelming i got tears in my eyes....
It was our second time in Paris and last time we had only a picture of the Eiffel Tower on the wall :-) .
only 5 minutes away from the apartment is Champ the Mars. The people in the building were very friendly and it is so great to be among people that actually live there.
The apartment has a great wifi, 2 tv sets if somebody prefers to watch tv over the wonderful view ;-).
There is everything you need to live like as you where at home.....that is why it was very hard to leave this apartment....
Would recommend to everybody and I hope we will come back!
L'apartement c'est magnifique avec les belles vues de la tour eiffel.
Merci par tout Eric
I wanted to be sure to share this review as I was a little concerned when I booked that there was only one other review. This is truly a gem of a place! We all agreed that the views far far exceeded the photographs-the Eiffel Tower is literally outside your window!
To be fair, this was not the best stocked or most up to date place I've rented(a little bachelor pad ish); no English channels on the tv but quite a few dvds provided in English. However, it had everything one needed to prepare meals and the washing machine was great. Make sure you ask Eric to show you how to use the washing machine. Wifi was also great. Eric was easy to work with, very responsive to my emails and arrived at the agreed upon time. Fyi-he does ask for a wire transfer for part of the rent as a deposit and we paid the balance in cash upon arrival. It will also likely result in a $20 charge from your bank for the wire . One other thing-there is an apt manager that will provide you the keys-she sits in the small office next to the main door, Madame Pruvost if I recall correctly. She takes a long lunch, so ensure you plan your arrival time for when she is there(Eric told us when she'd be gone) and she does not speak any English. I'd suggest looking up or printing a few basic phrases to the effect of we're getting the apt from Eric...
One nice thing not mentioned is that the toilet is separate from the main bathroom, so anyone sleeping on the pull out couch didn't have to travel through the bedroom or someone could use the toilet while another showered/got ready. The building is extremely secure-there's a code to get access into the buildings and then a fob for your specific building. The apt is self locking and your keys will secure the deadbolt(two sets of keys provided which is terrific if you're splitting up).
The hands down best part is the view! 12th floor(with a large elevator). Near full views of the Eiffel Tower and a peekaboo view of the top of the Arc de Triumphe! It was great to watch the sparking lights from the comfort of the apt, although don't miss seeing it from the Champs de Mar as the energy from the crowd is amazing. About two blocks from the nearest metro(get a carnet for the best price), past a number of great antique shops and a little longer to the Champs de Mar itself.
All in all, I'd highly recommend this place-the view was the highlight of our travels through France and England!
I was a little concerned there weren't more reviews about this place, but there was absolutely no need. The views far exceeded our expectations and the photos here do not begin to do justice to it. Just breath taking to walk in and see the near full length of the Eiffel Tower. It was a couple blocks to the nearest metro. We were 4 women sharing the space and did just fine. It's helpful that the toilet is separated from the shower. It's a bit of a bachelor pad and not as well equipped as other vrbos I've stayed before, however had everything we needed. Eric was extremely responsive by email in securing the apt and other questions. Fyi-you will have to do a wire/bank transfer to his account for the deposit and this fee is about $25 depending on your bank. He met us for the balance in cash our first evening and was prompt on the time we had planned. The building is very secure with a secure door leading to the grounds, a second secure door into the elevator and locks on the door once in. We felt extremely safe.
One suggestion-a book for guests with directions to the tube, how to use the washer(have Eric show you) and some suggestions for restaurants.
This apartment was truly a highlight of our trip. It was simply magical to watch the Eiffel Tower lights show from the apartment as well as the view over the city(you can even see the top of the Arc de Triumphe!) You would spend a small fortune for a hotel room with this view so we felt this was an absolute bargain. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
When I first found this place online, I thought the pictures were not actual views from the apartment, but rather a common room in the complex. However, after staying here I have to say that the pictures and description actually understate the view. There are three rooms (bed, living, and kitchen) with FULL views of the Eiffel tower. Champ de Mars is one block a way. There is a bakery right across the street for your morning croissant.
My wife and I traveled with our two teenage daughters. The girls stayed in the living room on the couch as well as a fold out chair. We were quite comfortable and the views were enchanting. We could fall asleep watching the tower twinkle. And if this bothers you, there are shutters you can lower.
Many of the bus tours start right at the Eiffel tower. The RER and nearby bus system get you anywhere you want to go.
We stayed over July 14th. There was a wonderful concert in Champ de Mars closed by the most spectacular fireworks our family has ever witnessed (many from the tower itself). As it gets dark late in France, the fireworks didn't start until 23h00. Because of the time, we elected to watch the fireworks from the apartment. You could see, hear, even feel the fireworks.
The apartment was comfortable and the complex is secure. The bedroom has a shower (with hair dryer). There is a refrigerator and combo washer/dryer. Note: like most of these combo-dryer units, you will likely need to hang clothes to dry afterward. Instructions for North Americans less familiar with these units will be useful.
My family will always treasure this vacation. We hope to stay here again in the future.
