Mulberry Apartment is set in Applethwaite Hall, a stunning Arts and Crafts mansion which underwent a complete re-development to create exclusive luxury apartments set in extensive private grounds. Mulberry apartment is on the first floor and so has the advantage of wonderful views across to the Old Man of Coniston, the Langdale Pikes and Loughrigg Fell.
Guests can enjoy peace and quiet, whilst only a 1.3 mile walk from the vibrant town of Windermere and its spectacular setting on the largest lake in England. Windermere boasts an eclectic mix of boutiques, restaurants, cafes and galleries. You'll have no shortage of things to do during your stay, catering for all tastes. There are many miles of wonderful walks directly from the property – including to Orrest Head – a 15 minute walk away, which offers a breath-taking panorama of the fells of Southern Lakeland. For water sports lovers, Windermere offers everything from a relaxing cruise along the lake to paddle boarding , sailing and kayaking for the more adventurous. E-bikes are available to hire from Windermere and Grizedale forest offers cycle trails for all abilities (Mulberry apartment has secure covered bike storage facilities). The property benefits from a Dry-Soon airing cupboard to speed-dry any wet gear.
Applethwaite Hall oozes charm from the moment you step through the original oak double doors into the rather grand downstairs lobby. Just a short double flight of stairs delivers you outside Mulberry Apartment. An inner lobby is perfect for hanging boots and walking gear and leads through the entrance hall into the spacious open plan living room with original stone mullion windows looking to the shared gardens and fells beyond.The super social living space is beautifully presented in neutral shades with accent colour and offers a generously sized corner sofa, large wall mounted smart TV with DVD player, Ruark digital radio and blue tooth connected speakers.
The living room blends effortlessly into the kitchen/dining area with all the appliances you would expect from a high end development and Mulberry apartment receives many positive reviews on how well equipped it is. Hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer are all by Neff and there is a Nespresso machine for those who need their caffeine hit! The walnut and glass dining table is amply proportioned and also benefits from great views of the fells. Bedroom 1 contains a super king size John Lewis bed and mattress (can be split into 2 singles on request) with built in wardrobe and oak dressing table. The ensuite Villeroy and Boch bathroom comprises shower, hand basin and WC. Bedroom 2 contains a king size John Lewis bed and mattress with built in wardrobe and oak dressing table. The adjacent Villeroy and Boch house bathroom has a generously sized bath, hand basin and WC.
The extensive shared gardens and woodland, home to a host of wildlife, are available for guests to roam and enjoy as they please.
