2 Bed in Lavenham (oc-f30054)
This idyllic cottage enjoys a prime position in the heart of the quaint Suffolk village of Lavenham. Welcoming four guests, the property makes a fantastic couples’ retreat or base for a small family. The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the stunning Suffolk countryside, with gorgeous walks directly from the village or in the nearby Dedham Vale National Landscape (8 miles). You’ll also be perfectly placed for exploring the picturesque market towns of Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds (both within 12 miles).
The traditional brick and flint cottage offers a warm welcome after a day of adventure. Enter the property into the heart of the home – a cosy lounge/diner with a characterful, ornamental fireplace and an array of comfortable seating nestled around a Smart TV. You’ll also find a dining table for sharing delicious, home-cooked meals together. The separate, compact kitchen has been carefully configured to include everything needed for a self-catering getaway. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor and the two inviting bedrooms, both of which have ample storage for all your holiday attire. A family bathroom rounds off this charming retreat. Outside, the enclosed courtyard has bistro-style furniture and provides a peaceful spot for a morning coffee or an al fresco supper. On-street parking is available within the village, subject to availability.
Lavenham is one of England’s best-preserved medieval villages, with a fabulous collection of timber-framed buildings lining its narrow streets. The village hosts a popular farmers’ market every month, and also has some delightful independent shops, boutiques, and galleries to potter around. Learn all about the village’s fascinating history at the museum in the Guild Hall, before joining one of the many scenic walking trails that branch away from the village. From Lavenham it’s easy to enjoy a day trip to Bury St Edmunds (12 miles) and Constable Country (15 miles).
