Stroll down to the famous quay at Wells-next-the-Sea and gaze out across the picturesque creeks when you stay at this cottage close to the harbour. Sleeping six guests, the inviting, three-bedroom hideaway, which also welcomes dogs, is less than 150 metres from the waterfront. With a courtyard garden for basking in the sunshine and a wood burner for winter warmth, the gorgeous, three-storey bolthole is just over 1 mile from the sweeping sands and colourful huts of the seaside town’s spectacular beach.


Make your way into the traditional Norfolk cottage to discover an immediately warm welcome in its beautiful lounge/diner. Lay a fire in the wood burner after bracing autumn walks and find a film on the Smart TV to enjoy with your family or friends after your evening meal. Find everything you need through in the kitchen to help you whip up tasty dishes with the freshly landed seafood you have bought in town, then call everyone to gather round the table in the lounge/diner. Two of your bedrooms, a super-king-size that can also be arranged as a twin by prior discussion, and a twin, which is especially suitable for children or teenagers as it has full-length beds that are a little narrower than usual, are on the first floor of the cottage. A family bathroom is also at this level. A king-size bedroom, with sea views and an en-suite shower room, is on the floor above. Fire up the BBQ in the courtyard on warm evenings and share a bottle of wine out here as the sun sets.


Pick up the North Norfolk Coast Path and enjoy a 1.5-mile walk to impressive Holkham Beach, which has been the backdrop to scenes from many movies. Visit Holkham Hall, 2.5 miles away, with its picturesque parkland and splendid stately home.
