For fun family days out, Rookin House Activity Centre is just 1.5 miles away and offers activities for all ages, from horse riding and archery to assault courses and fishing. Other national park attractions include the Lake District Wildlife Park and the Lakes Distillery (both within 17 miles). Walkers are spoilt with dramatic trails from the doorstep, while further afield, ramblers should head to scenic Sharp Edge on Blencathra or Striding Edge on Helvellyn (both within 9 miles).
