Escape to this delightful North Yorkshire getaway, which sleeps eight guests across three bedrooms. It can be found in the pretty village of Cawton, right on the edge of the Howardian Hills National Landscape, making it the perfect base for keen walkers. The long-distance Ebor Way also passes through the village, and you can follow it to Hovingham, 3.5 miles away. For cyclists, the North York Moors Cycleway can be joined just over 3 miles away. The idyllic market town of Helmsley is 7 miles away, with a fabulous selection of independent shops and eateries. You can also explore the town’s iconic, 900-year-old castle, and wander amongst the stunning floral displays of the walled garden. From Cawton, enjoy days out to the atmospheric ruins of Rievaulx Abbey, the family-friendly Flamingo Land, and the cathedral city of York (all within 20 miles).
The beautiful stone cottage enjoys a rural setting adjacent to a working farm. Inside, the property has a country-cottage vibe, with traditional furniture, a neutral colour scheme, and an array of creature comforts to make your stay as relaxed as possible. From the hallway, head through to the light-filled lounge/diner, which has wooden floors, a roaring wood burner, and glass doors opening onto the patio area. Unwind here, after a day of exploring, watching a film on the Smart TV, playing board games or sharing family mealtimes around the dining table. The separate kitchen also has a breakfast table for informal dining, along with everything needed for a self-catering break. Rounding off the ground floor is an inviting king-size bedroom with an elegant bed and its own en-suite shower room. Upstairs, discover two further bedrooms (a king-size and a twin), both with calming decor for a good night’s sleep. A refreshing family bathroom completes the accommodation.
Outside, enjoy an al fresco supper on the patio as you plan the following day’s activities. There’s also an enclosed lawn where children and dogs can play. In the garage, you’ll find an additional freezer and a tumble dryer, along with a pool table to keep everyone entertained long into the night.
