Comfortable and spacious - a real delight.
We had a lovely long weekend at Holly Cottage, which exceeded our expectations. The cottage is warm (we visited in November) and cosy, and very well-equipped. We were able to prepare and cook a special birthday roast dinner. There is even a walk-in cupboard crammed with board games and puzzles in case of bad weather but we were lucky enough to have perfect Autumn days to walk on the moors, which are right on the doorstep. The village is delightful with a great pub. We all slept better than we have done for ages.
Lovely cottage and great facilities
The cottage was very well equipped and warm and cosy. We would recommend it as a great place for family or friends. Please be aware that although linen is provided, towels are not which was a suprise to us and nor is a caffitiere but that may not be important to all. Luckily the local pub and the Barn B&B helped us out. Both establishments are worth a visit for sure.
The area around is really lovely especially when the sun is out. Great weekend, thanks.
Had a lovely weekend stay at Holly Cottage. It is very spacious for larger parties, the 2 bathrooms were helpful. We had good weather so managed to sit out in the garden early evening, i imagine would be beautiful in the summer! We did have to use the wood burner though! The village is quiet so perfect for getting away from it all. Thank you for a relaxing stay.
Lovely cottage in beautiful settings.
We were celebrating a 70th. birthday and had a wonderful time, everything was clean and the cottage well equipped as described. The garden could do with a little attention, but otherwise everything was great. The central heating control was hard to find as it had been turned off for the summer but we needed it on one evening, the rest of our stay the weather was warm.
Thanks for a nice stay.

Charming, Cosy & Great Location
We normally base ourselves around Rosedale/Pickering but glad we found this gem.
There was some confusion when we arrived as the cleaning hadn't been finished for our agreed arrival time and I didn't read that towels weren't provided (so maybe could be made more clear in a confirmation email as no-one expects to pack towels these days) but these were both resolved by the lovely lady who was cleaning and looking after the house for us.
The village is charming and has enough going on to provide respite from self catering , there is plenty of great dining within striking distance too. However we found the kitchen facilities and dining room perfect for family catering in the evening with the nearby Co-ops in Kirkby-Moorside & Helmsley providing good produce.
The bedrooms were a great size & beautifully decorated, so it didn't feel like a tired 'holiday rental' and the lounge was big enough for when we were all sat around after dinner. We even managed an al fresco lunch in the garden, a rarity for September!
The setting & set-up were perfect for a family of varying ages plus a dog to enjoy a memorable holiday. We'll be back!
A lovely spacious cottage with everything you need. Very clean and lovely comfy beds with high quality bedding. A well stocked kitchen and plenty of logs for the log burner. Just lovely!!
