Your Sunny Retreat at the Barefoot House – Space, Comfort & Inspiring Views

Welcome to the most spacious and light-filled room in the Barefoot House — a peaceful retreat designed for comfort, creativity, and slow living. With its generous layout and two large windows, the room is bathed in natural light throughout the day and offers beautiful views of the side garden and the breathtaking Ribeira d’Ilhas Valley.

You’ll sleep soundly in the kingsize bed and enjoy the privacy of your own bathroom. A large built-in closet provides plenty of storage, while a cozy sofa-bed* invites you to unwind with a book or host an extra guest. The vintage wooden desk, once belonging to my granddad, adds a touch of heritage and makes for an inspiring workspace — perfect for writing, working, or simply gazing at the majestic Jacaranda tree outside.

*The sofa-bed can be used for an additional €25 per night.

A warm and welcoming living room with a fully equipped kitchen, where each guest has their own cupboard and fridge shelf.

A tea selection and a dedicated coffee corner with a quality filter machine and grinder for freshly brewed mornings.

A comfy reading and games nook, plus a spacious lounge sofa overlooking the garden and Ribeira valley.

Coworking Space:
Connected to the main house is our bright coworking area, featuring six communal desks spread over two large tables and a private phone booth ideal for calls and online meetings.

Outdoor Areas:
Step into the garden and enjoy a peaceful mix of nature and comfort:
• A pool area with sunbeds, a hammock, and inviting chill-out corners.
• A covered veranda with BBQ and a big Portuguese-style outdoor dining table.
• A fire bowl for cozy evenings under the stars.
• A hidden outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach.
• A surf shed to store your boards and gear.

Wellbeing & Community:
We also offer a serene therapy room, perfect for massages, breathwork, workshops, meditation, or your own yoga practice. The space comfortably fits 4–5 people.
