Old Police Station Apartment Biggar

An attractive and thriving market town with plenty of amenities. There is a scenic stream and footbridge for great photo background.
A good parkland golf course and access to local hill walks. Not far from the M74 and easy drive to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We were the first to buy and renovate this 1933 police station. The upstairs apartment was originally police family accommodation that by the time we bought in 2023 was offices such as Sergeant’s room, computer room, conference room etc. We think it was last used by police families by late 80s as quite a few police and family members popped in to look around and chat with us.
The apartment living room has fantastic clear views to the hills and overlooks the crossroads were you can see all types of vehicles passing by especially classic cars and motorcycles.
Downstairs still has two old jail cells that were latterly used by the police as a toilet and the other storage. Our coffee bar customer toilets are in one of the old jail cells and we and we use the other as storage. From the outside you can still see the bars above the roof windows but not from inside as we have renovated and modernised all downstairs also but still kept as many old features as we could save.
