This lovely, welcoming cottage rests in Betws-y-Coed and can sleep 2 people in 1 bedrooms.
A lovely, welcoming end-terrace character cottage believed to date back to the early 1700s, situated in an elevated position just on the outskirts of Betws-y-Coed, known as the Gateway to Snowdonia. Completely refurbished to a high standard and tastefully decorated, this delightful cottage will not disappoint. With its pleasant outlook and wonderful wooded backdrop, together with its warm and welcoming ambiance, this cottage is just perfect for a couple looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway. The sitting room is full of charm with wonderful character features, such as exposed ceiling beams, stonework walls and inglenook fireplace housing a warming woodburner, perfect for those chillier evenings or for enjoying a romantic candlelit meal in the cosy dining area. The hand-built kitchen is well-equipped, with a Belfast sink and beautifully hand-carved Sycamore work surfaces. Stairs from the sitting room lead to an open first floor bedroom with double sleigh bed and boasts a beautifully-appointed en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath. The cottage enjoys an open aspect at the front with a larger woodland-style garden at the rear, with an abundance of plants, shrubs and trees and sitting areas with outdoor lighting, perfect for alfresco dining or enjoying a cold drink on a warm summer’s day. The garden is a haven for birdlife and offers peace and tranquillity after a busy day out and about. Alternatively, why not retreat to the yoga and meditation studio at the top of the garden, the perfect place to unwind? Being in Snowdonia National Park there are excellent walks from the cottage and all the village amenities are on your doorstep, with an array of shops, galleries, numerous pubs, coffee shops and restaurants to choose from. For the outdoor enthusiast there are activities in abundance, including white-water rafting, climbing and mountain biking, while the lovely towns of Conwy and Llandudno are within easy reach. Squirrel Cottage is a superb home, that you will want to return to time and again and is an ideal base for exploring this area at anytime of the year.
