Dieses Strandhaus am South Shore Drive befindet sich in einer ruhigen Straße in der zweiten Reihe. Es gibt ein freies GrundstĂŒck auf der anderen Straßenseite, sodass die meisten Zimmer einen unverbauten Blick auf das Meer bieten. Das Haus verfĂŒgt ĂŒber einen ĂŒberdachten Zebrastreifen zum Strand.

Zwei Plattformen, eine auf jeder Etage, ĂŒberspannen die Breite des Hauses mit gepolsterten StĂŒhlen, um 19 zu setzen. Beobachten Sie, wie die Sonne ĂŒber dem Meer aufgeht, wĂ€hrend Sie auf dem Deck Kaffee trinken. Hören Sie den Ozean bei Sonnenuntergang mit einem Drink in der Hand.

Bei Happy Hours sind Sie zu Fuß in der NĂ€he des Dorfes Surf City, das das Herz der Insel ist. Fahren Sie mit dem Fahrrad oder zu Fuß zum Surf City Pier, zu Restaurants, Eisdielen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, BĂ€ckereien und zum LebensmittelgeschĂ€ft. ZurĂŒck im Haus sieht man selten ein Auto.

Das perfekte Haus am perfekten Strand. Topsail Island ist eine familienorientierte, nicht kommerzialisierte Barriereinsel an der SĂŒdkĂŒste von NC mit tiefen StrĂ€nden, die nicht ĂŒberfĂŒllt sind. Topsail ist die Heimat der berĂŒhmten TI-DrehbrĂŒcke, die als eine der letzten ihrer Art an der OstkĂŒste erhalten geblieben ist. Die Insel beherbergt das landesweit bekannte Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital, ein Muss, und ist ein Schutzgebiet fĂŒr Schildkröten. Von Mai bis Juli brĂŒten hier Unechte und grĂŒne Schildkröten.

The house suited our family perfectly. Loved the private walkway to the beach. Quick, easy walk and the beach was wonderful. Plenty of beach, not crowded but not too far to walk to the water. Loved the paddle boards, bikes, beach chairs etc. There is ample parking but was surprised that a boat trailer took up one of the parking bays under the house. It rained most of the week so would have liked to be able to park out of the rain. Overall I highly recommend this home.

Perfect July 4th beach week

Our extended family of 10 enjoyed our stay at Happy Hours! The location of the home is walking distance to shopping and dining, yet far enough south of the pier to be away from the heavy traffic. The private beach access was an amazing location on the beach. There were so many extras with this house, including linens, all the many amenities in the attached building, the grill, great furniture on the decks, an ice cream maker- knowing all the things listed that were there really saved us a lot of time and space packing, and made our travel easier and lighter! The owner was very responsive when we had a question about the ice machine. Overall it was a great choice for our family and we hope to stay there again!

Perfect beach stay

We absolutely loved this beautiful beach home! It’s right across from the ocean, great views, very comfortable and beautifully decorated! It has everything you need for a family vacation. We really enjoyed the games and area under the house to hang out. Would definitely stay again and can’t wait for our next trip!

Will Keep Coming Back

We absolutely love staying at this property. It is in a great location and within walking distance to all of our favorite spots in Surf City. Beach access is right across the street. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. We also really enjoy the decks and the hammock and sitting area on the carport. This is definitely on our list to rebook later this year.

Family Vacation

We had an excellent vacation at Happyhours! Beach access was right across the street and everything we needed for the beach was provided. Some of the chairs were broken and we brought an extra beach tent for added shade. Kitchen was fully stocked with spices, dishes, and utensils. Plenty of space for our blended family and we had a great view of the ocean from the top balcony!

Had a great week. Owner was terrific when it was discovered the air conditioning was broken. The lift was not working either so we struggled with our luggage and groceries for the week but that was fixed Tuesday and the air conditioning was repaired late on Sunday. Mattresses were not in great shape and there was an issue of mold under the kitchen sink but owner was having his maintenance guy take care of those after we left.

Happy times at Happy Hours

We loved this rental and it’s location. We had a Perfect view of the ocean, the access was right across the street. Having the bath towels and linens in the home were a major plus. The kitchen had everything except scissors but we made do ;) The shed had Everything needed for the trip, from chairs, beach buggy, boogie boards, sand toys even an umbrella. We would 1000% stay here again. Showers had good water pressure the ac was nice and cold. Kids loved the teather ball and ring toss. We had a family with kids ages 13,10,7 and it was perfect! Very private and nice!

Family Vacation 2019

This was our first time visiting the Surf City/Topsail area. We could not have asked for a better experience for our multi-generational group of 10! This house far surpassed our expectations. Not only was it very clean but it was decorated and equipped like you would your own home. There was nothing the owners hadn’t thought of and I loved how everything was so organized and labeled. We even made homemade ice cream one night with the electric churn that was there. The activity shed was packed with toys, bikes, umbrellas, chairs, etc. which were wonderful for the beach and for entertaining our grandchildren when we weren’t on the beach. We enjoyed the corn hole boards, ring toss and tether ball games too! Happy Hours is the complete package and we will definitely be planning a return trip.

Disappointed

We had a great vacation despite some issues with the house. Some of the outlets were not working. One ceiling fan was very noisy. When we tried to use the downstairs shower, the shower head holder was broken so we couldn’t adjust for different heights for the people who wanted to use it. Neither ice maker were working, so we had to make continuous trips for ice. There were 3 cupboards filled with glasses, and the pantry was small, so we had to leave many things out on the counter. We had 8 people staying there and couldn’t all sit in the living room. One bedroom has a water stain on the ceiling. One chair in living room was on its last legs. And the shower curtain in downstairs bathroom had considerable amount of mold on it. Also the gas grill isn’t working properly. The ignition button was broken. The outside shower that they request you use didn’t work, so you had to wash off with the hose. It’s not a house we would rent again

Think twice about using this Vrbo property rental.

We booked our stay for Friday, 09/20 through Saturday, 09/28. Upon arrival, the house was not clean. The floors and bathrooms were dirty and no sheets on the beds, along with no bathroom towels! Reaching out to the owner with no reply, we reached out to Vrbo. The representative reached out to the owner, with no reply. We reached out to the laundry service company “Seaside Linens”. The owner stated he would personally drive out fresh linens and towels. We bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the house to feel comfortable staying the night. Once the bed linens and towels were delivered, we made the beds up, cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed the floors. The owner responded he was surprised the house was rented for a Friday arrival, as Vrbo should not have allowed this. He said the cleaning company would be out Saturday afternoon. The owner apologized for the house not being ready and he would refund us for one day. This seemed fair and we accepted his offer. Arriving home we reached out to the owner about our refund status. He was impacted by Hurricane Helene and unable to reply. We appreciated him getting back and verified he was safe. He stated he would get our refund sent through Vrbo. After a week and not receiving our refund, we reached out again. He was unable to refund through Vrbo and requested our Zelle information to send the refund money. As of 10/26, we have not received the refund and have not received a response on status. We will not be using Vrbo again.

Will Return!!

We are so glad the homeowners decided to start renting Happy Hours to the general public because this home has it all! It's ideally located for beach access and also close enough to restaurants and shopping but not at all in a busy spot. Not only is the house decorated well, but it is well thought out for the true beach-goer. From the clothes-line to the outdoor shower and the hammock and table games to keep people relaxed and entertained while awaiting their turn to hose or shower off, the set up is ideal. Inside the furnishings are comfortable and accommodate a group easily. There's also not a bad seat in the house, whether outside or in! Ocean views abound. Bedrooms have plenty of space for guests and their luggage and towel hooks are plentiful (think: hats, bathing suits plus towels) Three bathrooms serve a large group easily. Oh! I almost forgot to mention that the water pressure is out of this world and you will not run out of hot water! The kitchen is amply and neatly stocked with a seeming never-ending supply of cups : ) As if that weren't enough, the owners have an Activity Shed that is LOADED with things you need for the beach and things you might want to try for fun, like surfboards and paddle boards. This is above and beyond anything we've seen before in a rental home. When I first read the amenity list before renting, I assumed it meant these things are available nearby for renting. No!! They were included! The owners are a pleasure to deal with and were extremely responsive to any communication we had during our week long stay. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Experience - Beginning to end!!

Great location, great atmosphere, home was very nice. The host, Ed, has thought of everything that made our experience very enjoyable and always responsive prior to our stay, had no need to contact Ed during our stay, always nice for all. A few things to note, regarding the nice to haves or extras. Lots of beach toys are already available with this house, loved the corn hole on the beach and getting them there was a breeze with the fat tire beach cart. No need to bring beach chairs there is a great assortment to choose from and use, all in decent condition, paddle and surf boards. Lot of boogie boards for younger kids 10 yrs and younger. You will need to bring boogie boards for older kids or adults, just an fyi. The Shibumi was a wonderful surprise and worked great since our beach umbrellas were not up for the strong breezes. Lots of bikes, only two are in working condition, again a nice to have. We rented 3 bikes to compliment the 2 that worked. Call ahead if you do plan to rent bikes to make reservations. We had to get our bikes from two different bike rentals to get 3, not a big deal but in peak weeks of June and July I suspect we would not have gotten any bikes without reservations. Might only need a bike pump for the other house bikes to work, all but two had flat tires, there was a hand pump but the connector to inflate the tires was inoperable. All of this is meant to be an fyi certainly not a complaint since most hosts do not provide all of these extras. Grill was in great condition and clean. House to beach is maybe 50-60 yards. The layout of the house is great, loved the multi-level decks and the high chairs were great. With no house across the street you pretty much have an on the beach view. The photo on VBRO really does not do the actual view justice. All the surrounding houses were nice as well. The house is close to the shops, bars, surf city pier, and restaurants but far enough to not have to experience any of the congestion. Maybe a 10-15 walk or 4-6 minute bike ride. Definitely suggest going out onto the pier at least once, only a dollar a day per person and lots of fishing action to watch, day or night. Whole family loved our stay and did not hesitate to give this house and vacation two thumbs up which includes two teenagers and college age kids. Thanks Ed for the memories!!

Overall great vacation getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Happy Hours! I’ve listed some positives and negatives below. Overall, the house was wonderful and the negatives would definitely not deter us from staying here again. Positives: the location of Happy Hours is perfect! It’s easily within walking, biking, and driving distance from the central Surf City area where there are several great restaurants and shops. It’s also just a short walk over to the beach and has a great ocean view from the top deck. We had one little hiccup with linens being delivered on our arrival day but we were able to reach out to Ed and he very quickly resolved our issue to our satisfaction. The house was packed with everything you could possibly need for your stay (bring your own food and clothes and you’re set!). There are plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards, bikes, and even a wagon to haul your stuff to the beach in the activity building. There is a luggage elevator which made arriving and leaving much easier! The kitchen is fully stocked with every dish and cookware item you could need. The decor and atmosphere in the house are perfectly beach themed, making this whole house the perfect beach getaway. That being said, there are a couple of negatives that I feel should be mentioned just to possibly improve future visits. There are smart TVs in every bedroom and in the living room (5 total) and the TVs are already signed into Netflix, Hulu, and Sling. However, you can only view Netflix on 2 TVs at a time. It would be nice to make the cheap upgrade to add 4 more TVs so all guests can watch TV at the same time. This was only an issue for us at bedtime so again, not a deal breaker by any means. Overall, the house could use a few upgrades/repairs. The kitchen faucet as well as a few bathroom fixtures are a little rickety. There’s a swivel/rocker chair in the living room that is definitely on its last life. And the biggest negative for us was not having on-demand water heaters at each bathroom. When we all (7 of us) came in from the beach each evening and needed to take showers before dinner, many of us ended up taking cold showers. I think this upgrade would make the biggest improvement to the property. Overall, we had a great experience. We would definitely stay at Happy Hours again!

Fantastic stay!

We could not have been happier with the house, location and all the amenities. There was nothing we needed that was not provided. Kids and adults had a wonderful time! We would return without question!!!!

Dolphin/pelican watch

This was a very nice place. We watch the dolphin every morning from our deck and all of the birds pelicans and seagulls diving. We also enjoyed walking along the beach to the pier and then visiting the fractured prune and the bagel place. A highlight was going to the aquarium. So much to see and our 12 year olds were fascinated by the whole place. One of our descendants was stationed at the fort near there. Best meal out was The Shucking Shack. The shrimp and grits were Unbelievable. For 2 o’clock it was very busy but glad we stayed out the wait. We had Thanksgiving dinner in and found all the cooking equipment was there for us to use. The kids lovedthe bicycles to ride on the beach. Thank you for a wonderful time

Fabulous home with ocean view

This is a beautiful home with beautiful furnishings. It’s second row but has un interrupted views of the ocean from both decks. It also has a wonderful outdoor hang out area.

Best Family vacation EVER!

We came to the island for a family wedding, decided to stay for a full week, and this rental was absolute perfection for our needs. We did not need our car, our adult children either skateboarded or rode bicycles wherever they needed to go. The view was amazing and ease of access to the beach was wonderful,
