Itaki — Designer Hinterland Villa with Panoramic Sea Views and Pool - sleeps 8
A rare find between the sea, vineyards and the pittoresque village of La Cadière d'Azur.
Private pool, four suites, sunset views and open-air living in a villa that feels like it's levitating.
Some places don’t need words.
Places where the air feels gentler, the light moves across the walls, and time slows down.
Welcome to Itaki.
Itaki is a villa bathed in light, where beauty, design, and shared time take center stage.
Upstairs, a vast open-plan space invites you to gather, enjoy the sunset, and breathe in the soft Provençal air.
The 50 m² kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with gourmet appliances, an iconic AGA stove, and even a built-in outdoor wood-fired grill, perfect for slow cooking and summer feasts.
Meals are shared in the kitchen or outside on the terrace, where a full summer kitchen (complete with that essential ice maker) awaits to help you prepare fresh seafood and local produce under the pergola.
The living room captures the golden hour in all its glory. From here, you overlook the Bay of La Ciotat, the Sainte-Baume ridge, and the nearby villages, which sparkle gently after nightfall.
At its heart: a striking fireplace framed in reclaimed terracotta tiles, collected with care.
In winter, the warmth of the fire and the sky’s final colours are a joy to take in.
A covered terrace with a lounge lets you enjoy the view as the sun sets behind the Cassis cliffs.
On this level, you’ll also find a guest WC, a pantry with a large fridge and freezer, and, a pétanque court to spark lively afternoons and carry your apéritifs into the evening, soundtracked by cicadas.
Downstairs, in four air conditioned suites:
The Suite N°1 opens wide with pocket doors, offering a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean and the surrounding vineyards. The corner opening creates a seamless indoor-outdoor feeling. The suite includes a private dressing room, walk-in shower, double vanity, and private WC.
The Suite n°2 features full pocket doors onto a secluded courtyard, with equally stunning sea views. It comes with a spacious hammam-style shower, double vanity, and private separate WC.
The third and fourth suites each have their own bathroom — one with a soaking tub, the other with a walk-in shower — and share a WC.
All rooms open onto the garden, which gently slopes down toward the pool. And what a pool…
The pool itself is a tribute to modernist architecture, with clean lines and ever-changing colours. Depending on the time of day, it shimmers emerald, sapphire, or deep navy blue. It looks out over a wild, natural garden scattered with mature olive trees — and always, that open view and those extraordinary sunsets.
The grounds are fully enclosed and planted with native Mediterranean flora: fragrant shrubs, wild herbs, fig, olive, pine and cypress trees.
There’s ample parking for four vehicles in the main area, with additional space lower on the property.
We love Itaki because of it's prime hilltop location and exceptional views. We think you'll love them too. The property is so peaceful you can hear yourself think. The location half way between the village of La Cadière d'Azur and St Cyr sur Mer, makes it the perfect getaway between countryside and seaside activities.
We love taking our dogs for a walk on the GR51 which is on your doorstep and wandering through vineyards with an instagrammable view at every turn.
About La Cadière d'Azur
The villa is a few kilometres away from the provençal village of La Cadière d'Azur : the quintessence of Provence with its narrow streets and ancient fortifications. The village houses are beautifully kept with delightful plant pots overflowing into the streets, the medieval church quietly towers over the surrounding vineyards. The village is a prime location for wine tasting, fine dining and cute boutiques. La Cadière d'Azur hosts village fetes and music festivals most of the year round. Don't miss a Boulègue Cadière or a Ya Degun Festival when you visit. In the autumn and winter, the michelin starred restaurants open up to heartwarming menus and fine wines in front of a cracking fire.
La Cadière d'Azur is 4km away from the shimmering Mediterranean sea and the Bay of Saint Cyr sur Mer. Saint Cyr sur Mer's white sandy beach and sparkling calanques got recently awarded to be in the "most beautiful bay in the world" prize. The bay stretches from Bandol to La Ciotat and can be visited by boat, stand up paddle or on foot.
La Cadière d'Azur's closest village is Le Castellet, famously renown for the formula 1 racing track and Itaki is probably the best place to stay if you're visiting for a motor race.
