Luxury atelier house with terrace over FoRI/Colosseum with Dyson air system
SPECIAL OFFER IF YOU BOOK 15 DAYS BETWEEN JANUARY 22ND AND FEBRUARY 16TH
It's an artist's home, filled with travel stories and my work developed in various latitudes, a NO SMOKE NO PETS home. Not suitable for elderly people with reduced mobility or small children
The living room, with its antique linens and Jean Nouvel table with Panton chairs, makes you feel like you're in a different, generous world. I've worked in film, so there's a movie theater you can connect to with your computer. Here, I've created a coffee corner with a handcrafted machine that's been awarded for the sustainability of its pods, perhaps while listening to some music (but remember to respect your neighbors). The living room features marble and travertine like those found in Roman churches, and the walls are painted in the colors of the Roman Forum during the Imperial era.
The tapestry and photos are my artistic works, which can be ordered if desired.
Around the table, poets, writers, directors, actors, and international painters long for a retreat away from the spotlight.
THE KITCHEN is designed for today's youth, with a multifunctional convection oven, microwave, induction hob, and all the small necessities typical of those working from home.
THE BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS: The master bedroom is a fine example of Italian cabinetry, with a boat-style wardrobe bed that allows for a direct view of the Basilica of Maxentius upon awakening. The ensuite bathroom has both a tub and a shower, created after a trip to Japan.
For quality carpentry, the wardrobe in the second bedroom was converted from the bed in the master bedroom. This second bedroom is inspired somewhat by my Moroccan migration: intimate, with a single bed and an ensuite bathroom with a toilet, bidet, and shower.
SECOND LIVING ROOM thinking of my grandmother, who had a winter room and a summer room. I love writing here in the dead of winter! Then it became a refuge for friends passing through, so it's a place to sleep. Oscar-winning actor Babak Karimi also slept here countless times, so we called this space BABAK'S ROOM.
THE TERRACE: Yes, there are stairs, but the effort is always rewarded when you look out over Rome's imperial history! That's why I wanted a terrace-garden-lounge that I hope you'll take care of, too. I didn't put a beach umbrella because it's like a Moroccan riad under the stars of the Capitoline sky! I won't describe it... just experience it!
SMOKING: Please, please, smoke ONLY on the terrace!
ANIMALS: Forgive me, but this isn't the right place for this!
THE STAIRS VERY DIFFICULT. were designed by the architect, inspired by the brilliant drawings of Carlo Scarpa, one of the most brilliant Italian architects of the 20th century. Scarpa was inspired by medieval towers, which used this half-step technique to smooth out very steep climbs. Once you get used to it, they become easy on the eyes. But be very careful, and above all, don't climb them in socks, or with shoes, or barefoot!
It will be an exclusive and harmonious experience, but it is NOT suitable for small children or those with mobility difficulties.
I FORGOT: If you're looking for absolute perfection, perhaps this isn't the place for you.
But if you desire a refuge that speaks to you sincerely, that welcomes you with elegance and gives you a rare sense of peace, well-being, and authentic beauty—then you're in the right place.
Everything here has a soul, every corner tells a story. As I said, actors, poets, directors, and models have slept and dined here, and now you're here too, and if you'd leave a written word on the table, I'd be happy!
And from here, Rome opens up before you: in just a few minutes, on foot, you can reach every wonder of the city.
Without rush, without distance. Just you and the Eternal City, the Great Beauty.
INFO: Exchange office under the house on Via Cavour
Airports 30 minutes away
Termini Station 12 minutes on foot
St. Peter's 10 minutes away
Nearest hospital San Giovanni 5 minutes away
Mobility apps: LIME, DOTT, COOLTRA, FREEMOVE; ENJOY, UberX and Uber Black
Needless to say, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to pizzerias, pubs, and bars.
