There’s nothing quite as relaxing as escaping to a cosy Woodland Lodge with your own private Hot Tub for a few days! Away from the hustle & bustle, you’ll feel instantly tucked away, with no choice but to unwind and enjoy. For an extra touch of indulgence, why not book a private woodland sauna session, complete with a cold water drench shower and time to relax on the sauna deck?

Sycamore Lodge is a little different. Its unique triangle shape offers a quirky twist on a classic woodland retreat – perfect for couples looking for a romantic break with something a bit special.

Tucked within a small expanse of woodland and surrounded by open fields, Sycamore Lodge is the perfect base to explore the beautiful Essex/Suffolk borders. And yes – it is Dog Friendly, with a fully enclosed garden (approx. 1.2m fencing), so your four-legged friend can enjoy the break too (1 small dog only).

Step inside and you’ll find a cleverly designed open-plan living space with a cosy, loft-style double bed, accessed by a ladder, adding a sense of adventure to your stay. Beneath is a comfortable sofa which easily converts into another double bed, making it ideal for couples bringing young children.

There’s a compact but well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, oven, and hob – everything you need for relaxed, simple meals. The private bathroom is just next door on the decked veranda, complete with a modern shower, sink, and toilet – adding to the quirky, outdoor-living feel of this woodland hideaway. The kitchen sink is also located outside on the decking, with fresh running water and somewhere to wash up.

Sycamore Lodge is perfect for 2 guests, with the option for 2 children.

Your private Hot Tub is screened for seclusion and leads straight from the veranda into your secure garden, creating a lovely flow between indoor and outdoor living.

Whether you want to spend your time exploring local walking routes, enjoying the nearby Dog Friendly village pub, or simply soaking in your hot tub whilst listening to birdsong; Sycamore Lodge gives you the space to relax on your terms.

Layout

High Bed with sofa underneath (Please Note: The loft style bed protrudes out into the room and there is limited head height underneath it).
The sofa can pull out to accommmodate a double bed for 2 children.
A Small Kitchenette and seating with a fold away table.
The Bathroom is right next door, in a seperate room which is accessed from the decking.
Please Note: to use the main bed you will need to climb the ladder

Toppesfield Hall is set in the countryside, and our guinea fowl and other local wildlife add a charming touch to your stay. Please note: they may be vocal at times including night-times.


Local Area

As you get closer to the Essex/Suffolk Border, you will be sure to notice a greener outlook.

Driving through Toppesfield Village you will see our wonderful pub with its spacious outdoor garden for children to play and dogs to roam. You will also pass St Margaret’s Church, our community shop and post office.

This village is full of natural beauty and much character too. There is a park for the children and the village green provides a safe haven for family picnics and games.

Toppesfield Village can be accessed via a short 8 min stroll across the grassed footpath from Toppesfield Hall or from the main country road.

No Parking next to lodges- There is dedicated parking available just a short walk from the Lodges (within 150 yards).
