The Hide - A Secret Cabin in the Trees: Peace Nature & Privacy!
Surrounded by the magic of nature, The Hide nestles between trees & ferns. Offering a much needed sanctuary from the daily grind it's a place where time stands still. Listen to birdsong, enjoy glorious views, cosy up by the chimnea & gaze at the stars. Off the beaten track, this secluded cabin has been built with love & furnished to echo the wild wonders outside. Off grid & only accessible on foot, this rewilded retreat is the perfect escape for nature lovers looking to hideaway from the world!
The Wildlife Reserve:
Here at "Bellbrook Farm Hideaway Holidays" we're passionate about protecting our native wildlife! Four years ago our rewilding journey began & we have worked in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust and Mother Nature to transform our former trout fishery into a haven for wildlife - we are home to over 40 species of bird and our population of butterflies grows every year! There are no manicured lawns, tarmac paths or artful hedges in sight, just wild areas which we hope you'll enjoy.
Dedicated wildlife enthusiasts might spot endangered water voles, deer and kingfishers as well as amazing array of dragonflies which dance around the lake in the summer. In the autumn the fungi are a sight to behold and the call of the stags in the woods are a wonder to hear.
Due to the delicate ecosystem we're protecting guests are unable to swim, fish or kayak in the lake - it's a perfect spot for a picnic (vintage picnic hamper, picnic rug & a delicious bottle of local apple juice provided).
The Cabin:
The cabin is a cosy & welcoming place, whatever the weather! The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials, the bed is super comfy (the fungi bedding is my favourite) and the shower is lovely and often gets a mention! The amazing raised decking puts you amongst the trees and there's a smaller area surrounded by ferns which catches the sun. The quirk to this beautiful escape is that we cannot get a TV signal or broadband so it's ideal for those looking for a digital detox. We do provide a DVD player & some films as well as selection of board games for those guests looking to unplug and have some old fashioned fun!
**please note The Hide is not suitable for guests with children/infants & therefore we do not provide any child friendly bits & bobs**
The Local Area:
We are surrounded by private woodlands, farms and very little else. There are one of two hilly walks from the nearby lane and The Two Moors Way is a short drive but really a car is essential to access any good walks, shops, cafes, etc.
As the lanes are single track for 2 miles, you'll need to get your reversing groove on! There are lovely shops & cafes in Bampton (5 miles) and Tiverton (9 miles) has a beautiful National Trust, a castle, museum, the Grand Western Canal (great walks and tearooms) and several supermarkets as well as a good pannier market.
We hope to see you soon and please ask if you have any questions - we will always give an honest answer as happy guests make us happy 😊
