Plumtrees (4), Thornham, Norfolk
Located in the coastal village of Thornham, Plumtrees is a beautifully renovated hideaway featuring a grand viewing window with Juliet balcony that enjoys stunning vistas across Thornham's saltmarsh to the sea beyond. Offering stylish open-plan living with an ambient open fireplace, Plumtrees is situated within walking distance to the village pubs, beach and nature reserve.
The contemporary frontage of Plumtrees is immediately impressive, with this thoughtful design and attention to detail continuing throughout the interiors. The light and bright kitchen features a sloping roof allowing light to flood into the space, which is complemented by a sky blue colour scheme and open rustic shelving, plus plenty of worktop space. The kitchen is well-equipped to cater for serving delicious breakfasts or evenings spent dining in. A wonderful design feature of Plumtrees is that the nominated cook can converse with those gathered at the dining table, or on the sit up stools in front of the breakfast bar. From the dining table, enjoy garden views through the french doors, as food and conversation are shared. In the adjacent quadruple-aspect sitting room a cosy open fire adds additional warmth and spreads ambient light during chillier months. After a long day spent exploring, nestle into the comfortable sofas and relax as you watch a film. For quieter moments, the triple-aspect family room features full height windows framing views of the garden, saltmarshes and sea beyond. With a variety of books to delve into, as well as a selection of games, there is plenty to keep you busy. Timber clad walls and flooring give a beachy feel to this wonderful space. Upstairs, on the first floor, two inviting bedrooms are presented. Featuring a floor to ceiling arch window with Juliet balcony, the triple aspect master bedroom benefits from ample natural light and boasts stunning views of the saltmarshes, sea and the countryside that reaches all the way to Titchwell Nature Reserve and Brancaster Golf Club. Hosting a king-size bed, this room is served by a modern en-suite shower room with walk-in shower. Bedroom three offers a double bed, with both rooms sharing in the quintessential countryside views.
Outside, the rear garden is predominantly enclosed, featuring a large terrace that is ideal for sunny afternoons, and leads all the way down to the village pond. A haven for wildlife, especially nesting moorhens and ducks, this is a perfect place to sit under the fruit trees to share in a well-earned sundowner! Muddy or sandy feet and paws can be rinsed off using the outside tap. To the front of the property is a small all-year-round sun terrace with bistro table and chairs. Nature and wildlife lovers will love this beautiful detached hideaway. There is ample parking at Plumtrees, with off-road parking for up to four cars. Bikes and paddleboards can also be stored to the rear of the property.
Plumtrees is an idyllic base from which to explore all that North Norfolk has to offer, whether by car, bicycle, bus or foot. There are two great village pubs within walking distance, The Orange Tree is less than 14 minutes away, and The Lifeboat Inn is less than 20 minutes away. Just 20 minutes' walk away, The Thornham Deli is hugely popular for its breakfasts and light bites. The beach at Thornham is reachable within a 20 minute walk, with the beaches at Holme-next-the-Sea, Hunstanton, Brancaster and Wells each reachable in under 25 minutes by car. In neighbouring Burnham Deepdale there is a petrol station, and small but well-stocked store. With some delicious restaurants and boutique shops, the Georgian village of Burnham Market is also nearby. Plumtrees is in the midst of a birders paradise with Thornham saltmarshes on the doorstep, and RSPB Titchwell, Holme Dunes Nature Reserve, and RSPB Snettisham nearby. For a history fix, the stately homes of HM The King's Sandringham, Houghton, Holkham and Pensthorpe are all within easy reach.
This property is also available as a sleeps six option, with the twin bedroom opened up. Listed as Plumtrees.
