Duck Cottage

Lovely cottage. Would prefer a dishwasher to washing machine. Proximity to other guests, particularly when outdoors did cause concern over noise/smoking. Kitchen table a tight squeeze. Furnishings and equipment excellent and very comfortable.

Duck cottage

Duck cottage is in a lovely area, very handy for being close to the SVR. Great for visiting places further away. The cottage has good Wi-Fi, nice & warm throughout our stay. A little bit disappointing inside as it could do with a bit of TLC.

Great stay

Returning customer for nearly 12 years always a great well managed well presented and very clean cottage very traditional on the outside and modern inside the beds are very comfortable and the host Karen is very friendly and theres always a nice homemade cake to welcome you indoors at the start of your stay, fantastic

Ideal Stay in the Bridgnorth Area

Beautifully appointed cottage in an idyllic location, 10 minutes south of Bridgnorth. Really peaceful, and everything you need for a relaxing stay in the Shropshire countryside, welcoming hosts. Highly recommended.

Perfect in every way

We have stayed at The Dinney many times, whilst visiting Bridgnorth as we know everything will be first class. Karen & Keith are perfect hosts, we have never found anything other than a first class service, Which every property you choose, and we have stayed in quite a few, they have all been to a very high standard. The views are amazing from each property, with a guarantee of peace and tranquillity.

A brief break

The Dinney is in an idyllic setting and everything required is there! We wished we could have stayed longer. The only thing we missed was Duck Cottage did not have a garden parasol which was a bit crucial for using the lovely patio, particularly during the heatwave! Otherwise absolutely wonderful. The welcoming cake was very well received too.

Disappointing

We stayed at the Dinney two years ago in Garden Cottage which was excellent and on that basis we decided to return. This year, as Garden Cottage was unavailable we booked Duck instead. Sadly, we were disappointed with the standard. The paintwork was marked in places and there were stains on the lounge rug and on the back door mat. Overall the cottage looked tired. The kitchen was ill equipped and had odd numbers of glasses, crockery & glassware. Three adults eating at the dining table (tucked under the stairs) was too cramped. We had a very thick, heavy winter duvet on the double bed. 9.5 I think, which was not suitable for June. On our arrival in the evening, the cottage was cold and we couldn't get the heating to work. There were no instructions in the folder or online. The owner Karen did arrive promptly the following morning to sort it out and showed us that to work the heating you simply turned the thermostat up to 22.5. It seemed that was the only way it would work! On the plus side, we loved the small garden and the beautiful views over the lake. The location was excellent, with lots to see and do. Especially the arboretum which we all enjoyed.

Fabulous short stay

Fantastic cottage, felt very homely. Very well equipped, everything was carefully thought out for your comfort. The cake was an added bonus on arrival. Marked down on location, the views were good, as the cottage was more rural than expected and we had to travel miles just to get milk. Very peaceful, although we didn't see much wildlife apart from the geese flying over.

Great hidden gem in Shropshire

Fantastic week, nothing too much trouble at this accomodation. Homemade cake on arrival a lovely touch. Extremely well kitted out, spotlessly clean. Converted tithe barn, last night an inconsiderate group next door which was a shame.
