Wonderful Stay at The Thatched Barn!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay from August 14th to August 21st! We were deeply impressed by how beautiful the accommodation is. Nothing was missing, and we felt right at home from the very first moment. If we had one small suggestion, it would be to consider adding fly screens to the bedroom windows so guests can leave the windows open a bit during the night. Other than that, everything was perfect and met all our expectations! We will definitely be back. Best regards, Timo & Caro

Delightful and Secluded

We absolutely loved our stay here. It felt wonderfully secluded without ever feeling isolated. The barn itself is incredible, Claire and James have done an exceptional job restoring it, blending modern design and appliances with the traditional character of the original building. The location is excellent too. The south coast is around 20 minutes away by car, and we were able to visit plenty of great places, including the humbling Battle of Britain Memorial. The barn was the perfect place to spend our anniversary. The welcome pack was a brilliant surprise and meant we could make a brew straight away without digging through our bags. Claire was extremely helpful and approachable throughout our stay, always on hand when needed.

Beautiful Accommodation

We loved our stay at the Thatched Barn. The barn was spacious, clean and comfortable. The outside space was private and well equipped. The owners were on hand to offer great advice on places to visit and eat at. We would love to return at some point in the future.

Simply the best!

Everything about this holiday home is beautiful! The location and views are stunning, the atmospheric barn has been beautifully restored at no expense and the result is the perfect place for a romantic stay. Also, a wonderful welcome pack had been left for us by our lovely host Claire which was much appreciated. I can't wait to go back! Thank you so much!

Short stay in perfect Barn

Absolutely Stunning stay... Don't think about it, just book it. Perfect rural retreat. The Barn is beautiful and lovely touches throughout made for a home away from home experience. Lovely walks nearby too, which elevated the whole stay. Perfect to get away from it all location. Will be staying here soon.

Beautiful property

Wow, what a stay! The barn is beautiful throughout and so well equipped, the owners have clearly put a lot of thought into what to provide their guests. The welcome basket of essentials was a such a lovely touch and really set the tone for a great stay. The area is quiet and peaceful but only a short distance to a couple of really lovely country pubs. Would love to stay again!

We loved our stay at The Thatched Barn.

The weather wasn't great and we were on a babymoon, so lots of time spent indoors here, but it felt spacious and equally cosy. Really well equipped which is important for me and makes the stay a lot better! Bed and sofas comfortable, and lovely dining area. Quite a few spiders around the place, but probably to be expected in a barn conversion!

Absolutely fabulous!

The Thatched Barn is absolutely fabulous. As you walk through the door you are greeted with the Wow factor, the Barn has everything you need, it’s very spacious, it’s in a very quiet location and great for touring the local countryside and beaches. The owners, James and Claire are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend.

Outstanding Property

A remarkable conversion of a thatched barn into a one bed two bathroom property, to a level well above our expectation. Everything is to a very high spec and to provide comfort, an ambiance for a very enjoyable stay. Appreciated the hamper after what was a long journey and so pleased that it is fully equipped with every thing required. Hope we have an opportunity to stay here again, we would struggle to find better.

A Fantastic Property

The property itself is an excellent conversion with high quality fittings and furnishings. The location is rural and peaceful but within easy reach of many attractions. There is a comfortable king size bedroom and two full shower rooms, one of which is en-suite, both with plenty of towels and a few starter toiletries. The open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen gave us plenty of space along with a mezzanine lounge area with ample seating. What elevates this property above the many others we have stayed in over the last 45 years is the attention to detail that was present. There was sufficient glassware, crockery and cutlery to last a couple of days so no need to wash by hand or run the dishwasher half full and ample cookware to produce a gourmet meal if you're so inclined. All the household necessities were included with more than enough loo rolls, dishwasher tablets, kitchen paper, foil etc to last the week. There was also plenty of tea, coffee, coffee pods and sugar and a welcome pack including milk and bread. There is a washing machine and laundry detergent with airer, iron and a table top ironing board if required. The outside area is lovely with table and chairs and some blankets if the evening gets chilly. The lovely owners, Clare and James, have really gone the extra mile to make this a top notch holiday home and we can highly recommend a stay in The Thatched Barn. Top Tip - There is a large chest of drawers in the bedroom but no wardrobe. However, there are 5 hooks and coathangers in the bedroom and a further 6 hooks under the stairs so take extra hangers and you'll be fine.
