We loved our stay in Sant Paul dâOrdal at Cal Masana. The owner was lovely and so welcoming to us, and itâs a small town so everything is completely walkable. There was street parking for our car right out front and the town, while small, offered a few restaurants, a market, and a public swimming pool that served food. We were there during a very hot time (over 90 degrees F) and the house does not have air conditioning, but during a cooler time it would be quite comfortable. We did our best with fans and opening doors, but there are mosquitos so you have to balance those factors. This part of the cottage (A) is huge, with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, plenty of space for everybody. Thereâs a bell tower right across the street that rings every 30 minutes from 6:30am to 11:00pm. That was a surprise, but we got used to it and there is a certain charm about it. Thereâs a huge soccer field that our kids played on, and we drove to the nearby towns to explore shopping and food. There are several within 15-30 minutes that have so much to offer, including beach towns like Sitges. The peaches and grapes were being harvested while we were there and they are DELICIOUS. Local Catalan food at the restaurants was amazing (try the burrifata sausage, I insist) and we also made some food in the cottage kitchen. For a quick getaway from the chaos of Barcelona proper, we absolutely recommend visiting this charming village.
