A pretty period cottage situated on Church Plain, a quiet street close to the town's magnificent St Nicholas Church, and within easy walking distance of all that Wells-next-the-Sea has to offer - an array of independent shops, some great places to drink and eat and, of course, it's renowned picturesque harbour and stunning sandy beach.
Updated by the current owners in 2023, Queenie's Cottage (named after a regal stone plaque at the front of the cottage), is deceptively spacious and has been thoughtfully furnished in an easy on the eye, relaxed contemporary style, with a nod to the coast with humorous artworks by well known local artist Brian Lewis dotted here and there. On entering the cottage through the front door, you walk into a dining hall that leads to all rooms, and has an open staircase to the first floor. The sitting room is a very pleasant space with two large sofas, a wood burning stove to light when extra warmth is the order of the day, and enjoys lovely natural light from two windows to the front. At the rear of both rooms is a small inner hall leading to a smart newly fitted galley kitchen that has views over the cottage's garden and, in keeping with the age of the cottage, the quintessential downstairs bathroom. Upstairs on the first floor are two bright, generous-sized comfortable bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other a twin bedded room with its own handy en-suite cloakroom.
Immediately outside the cottage is a large paved patio area, that extends out into the lawned area beyond. An inviting option for when the days are long and warm, and you've been out for a busy day exploring the charms of Wells and beyond.
